FAQ from Jan 19/22 email from Marriott:
No. Due to varying factors such as low volume in demand, we are no longer selling Travel Package Awards as of January 19, 2022.
Q: What happens to the Travel Package Award I already have in my Account?
If you have a Travel Package Award attached to an existing Reservation, rest assured, we will be honoring your stay and no additional action is required.
Please Note:
The airline miles portion of the Travel Package Award was deposited to you at the time of purchase of the Travel Package Award and, therefore, will not be refunded.
Q: What happens if I need to modify or cancel my Travel Package Award redemption Reservation after March 2, 2022?
If you modify or cancel a Redemption Reservation that has a Travel Package Award attached to it after March 2, 2022, you must contact Member Support to cancel the Travel Package Award, after which you will receive a full Marriott Bonvoy® Point refund for the Hotel portion of the Award. The refund will be based on the current Points redemption category levels and will equal the sum of the Peak Points Redemption Rate per each Night of the Travel Package Award, at the highest category for which the Award was eligible. The airline miles portion of the Travel Package Award was deposited to you at the time of purchase of the Travel Package Award and, therefore, will not be refunded.

If Marriott is not extending the certs, all unused certs will be expired on June 30, 2022. It would be very easy for Marriott to keep the category for hotels until June 30, most people would have used the cert by then anyway.

I think there's good chance Marriott is searching for an answer themselves ever since the announcement.
It probably would take some time for them to come up with a solution, but I wouldn't necessarily count on getting increased value from the TPs.
If I were to venture a guess, they'd probably assign point values to the TPs mapped from their current category level, hopefully using peak pricing rather than regular pricing.
As far as upgrading FNAs with additional points goes, they could simply restrict this feature to single night FNAs and exclude TPs from this to make things simple.

This would be my guess! It would be tough for them to assign a value less than the current category’s peak pricing.

I agree with you that most certs would be used by then. I dont believe Marriott would tweak anything extra to accommodate the remaining (very few) unused TP certs.
Right now I just wish to see mine extended. Sadly as of today all our certs whether TP or the regular CC FNs, all still stuck on the Jan 3 2022 date.

Nor do I, and yet at the same I struggle to see how they can attach a value any less than the peak rates for the respective TP’s category. Likewise if they are attaching a point value and allowing FNA’s to be ‘topped-up’, I can’t see why they wouldn’t extend the same facility to these TP’s! Hopefully we will have answers sooner than later.

They will fix that if you reach out, in fact you may very well see a year extension out of it. Although in my case I’d like to keep that one time ‘unofficial’ extension in my back pocket for now.
