Pricing in Spain 330 days out

Just cursory browsing some hotels for a trip in just under a year.

Four Points Barcelona Diagonal is listing at $10,000 a night. Can this be accurate? June 10th is a sample date.

Saw this problem before and phoned the hotel and they do this because Marriott forced them to put rooms on the system so when some hotels donít book that far out their only choice is to put crazy prices so people donít book!

I suspect that there would be no price available on the OTAs if there is no price available for Marriott website.

Other examples of exorbitant pricing via marriott.com in the past:

Of course you could always try to book in Antarctica...

Obviously, as described above, this is just trying to block the rooms, but 330 days out is way too far to gauge actual pricing. I find a whole bunch of hotels have fairly high (but not insane) rates until about 6ish months out and then they often drop even more.
I tend to reserve the best refundable rate 6 months out and then just swap them out when a better rate comes along.

I was wondering about that.

Interesting info in this thread. Part of me was wondering if there was some huge event that day in BCN that could command that kind of price. I have plenty of time to book.
