Des Moines Marriott Downtown, Iowa, USA [Master Thread]
This is the master thread for the Des Moines Marriott Downtown.
For posts comparing this hotel to other Marriott Bonvoy hotels in the Des Moines metro area or in the state of Iowa, these FlyerTalk threads are more appropriate:

The Des Moines Marriott Downtown is 365-foot, 33-floor tower built as Marriott Hotel in 1981. It has been updated regularly, most recently in 2018.
OFFICAL WEBPAGE AT MARRIOTT.COM:

The photos on the webpage accurately show the rooms as they appear after the 2018 renovation. The rooms now have faux wooden floors. In a nice nod to a local landmark, the mural above the headboards is based on the High Trestle Bridge over the Des Moines River.
ELITE UPGRADES
Before the 2018 renovation, the only suite was a hospitality suite (or perhaps two of them). The 2018 renovation added at least three more suites (the size of 3 or 4 standard rooms), but it’s best to set your expectation on one of the 400+ identically-sized standard rooms rather than an upgrade. Even the corner rooms are just standard rooms, without additional windows.
CONCIERGE LOUNGE
The Concierge Lounge is on the Mezzanine level, with an open view into the hotel’s “Great Room” lobby.
Monday through Friday mornings
— Breakfast - 6:00am-9:00am
Sunday through Thursday evenings
— Food - 5:00pm-7:30pm
— Honor Bar - 5:00pm-10:00pm
— Desserts - 7:30pm-10:00pm
The Lounge closes at 12:00pm on Fridays and reopens Sunday evening.
On weekends, when the lounge is closed, guests who are eligible for access can use their keycards to unlock the door for self-service soft drinks, water bottles, yogurt, and fruit.
There is a computer and printer in the lounge.
