Someones are Gold or Silver also receive the giftcards though at $30.

Got $30 on non status account.
I haven't merged my SPG and Marriott accounts. Nothing on the one with Gold status, but strangely $30 on the non status.
The only activity there in the last 12 months were some points for dining.

I'm just a lifetime Titanium with less than 50 nights this year so far. So my guess is that all you Ambassadors will get a $100 card soon.

Given that my two upcoming award stays are high-point redemptions, I'd probably prefer that refunded award night mentioned in the linked blog post. But since it's apparently targeted, no way to know if that will come to pass with one, both, or neither awards...
