Just generic Delta hotel info on the website, but a FTer inquired about new properties in NJ so thought this would of interest to those who will be in the area. Look forward to first trip report.

Ugh. That's the Renaissance (formerly something else - Hilton or Sheraton IIRC).

A move from Renaissance to Delta doesn't seem good in my opinion. I had gotten good benefits there in the past. I wonder what I can expect as a Delta.

I am not looking forward to this change.

I took a look at the hotel to make some dummy bookings to see if they were still going to have an Executive Lounge. I found NO availability at the Delta through at least early 2020 but availability at the Renaissance. Weird. Anyone know what is going on? Are they just going to wait until the renovations are done to make the switch, is there any target date, or is this change from Ren to Delta not happening?

I am told it will be opening the last week of June.

Any recent FT experiences here? I'm looking at potentially organizing a room block here including a few suites and at least some Tripadvisor reviews mention complimentary (even for GLD) upgrades to suites.

The last time I stayed in the area the Sheraton Raritan was quite awful. The Delta looks decently renovated.

Edit: I'm moving forward with the block. Jr. and regular suites are a very reasonable upcharge.

i wanted to update on my experience. The hotel itself was fine, staff did the absolute bare minimum and the rooms were in rough shape, but I didn't expect very much.

The real problem is with hotel management and the sales team. After signing a room block contract with the property, and providing ~45 room nights, the property has completely failed to honor the terms of the rewarding events program. All calls/emails for the last several months have ignored, I would avoid the property in the future.

After 2 consecutive negative experiences (2020 and 2021) under the current management, this hotel has become a hard pass for me. Recommend others stay away.

Will stay there in a few weeks. Convenient between Princeton and Rahway ... will see how good/bad it really is ;)

Well so far this this pleasant and a keeper for me! UG at check-in to Governor Suite. Asked about lounge/breakfast and was told lounge is no more, but got voucher for BF in the restaurant with no issues.

Nice modern hotel

I was stuck at Newark airport by storms last week and, when calling the Titanium desk at midnight, was offered a room here. About ten to fifteen minutes away and definitely out of the chaos that was the airport. Room clean and comfortable- so I stayed a second night when I couldn’t get a flight home until then. Zero complaints.
