This is so far in the future, who knows if it will even be built.

There was supposed to be a Bangkok Edition; that's not happening.

The EDITION you mentioned is opening as Accor's first Orient Express hotel by the end of this year. A new EDITION is rumored for the One Bangkok project that the Ritz-Carlton's a part of, and I've also seen mentions of a Bvlgari and Autograph Collection hotel for the same project. If that's the case, Marriott will up their Bangkok luxury game big time.

A Ritz-Carlton at this location has already been almost certain for a few years. They only finalized the agreement.
I don't see this project being cancelled.

It's also TCC, but, yes, a delay is never to be excluded in Thailand.

The Edition became the King Power Hotel, if I remember correctly. After the original developer went bankrupt

I start a lot of new property threads based on MAR website, but I tend not to post a few years in advance because things can change. I've even backed off on starting property threads that are due to open end of year or early 2020 until we get closer to opening.

Having said that, would be nice to have RC in BKK, but holey moley there are a lot of MAR options in BKK.

Cheers.

I thought this was supposed to be the first Orient Express-branded hotel? My general view is whenever you think Marriott is currently a bit of a mess, just be thankful it’s not Accor .

No comment on Accor, as I simply have no idea how they are doing, but it's pretty much the property's owners that decide what brand they would like and I guess that the management company approves the choice or not.

I had forgotten about the Orient Express earlier plan:

As far as the Riz-Carlton in One Bangkok is concerned, I really don't think that this will change. I have heard about this project for over 3 years.

The Edition was also known for quite a long time, they even started recruiting staff while the project was still called The Edition. So, I'll believe the RC when it opens.
