Feeling very lucky. Just redeemed a one night stay here days before OP incident. Family member needed a cheap one night stay while on a road trip. Booked him at the Fairfield Inn Hopewell VA.
I’ve had reflagging happen on paid stays but always given a few days notice. Very surprised OP wasn’t notified at check in. Would have pissed me off to show up and be told they reflagged with no notice.
Agree that Trip Advisor post by OP about the new management team is appropriate as this likely reflects their new style.
