Totally agreed. i don't even consider to stay at this new LM. it should not be branded as a LM, but a Courtyard or Four Points would be best fitted.

Unless Marriott has redefined LM standards to align more like Courtyard or 4 points. That would be a shame if that is the case.

I contacted the hotel recently and confirmed they have been open since 3 Oct 2019. I booked using an opening rate (2500 THB ++) for mid-November, will provide some feedback after our stay.

I'll be staying here from Oct 11. Currently booked for 5 nights at the opening special rate, and have already been pre-upgraded from cheapest (Superior) to Corner Studio

Have you stayed there or is this just from the pics?

The opening rate of THB2499 is quite attractive for a brand new property including free breakfast and free dinner. I am going to try it out in end Nov too !

Anyone got complimentary upgrade for Platinum elite?

I've checked in today and wanted to share my first impressions.
Check-in: smooth, was pre-upgraded from cheapest room to Studio Pool View. Was given coupons for dinner, as well as a printout detailing Platinum benefits at the property - all the usual stuff plus the shuttle to Khao Lak is free.
Room: the Pool View Studio is a large corner room with two windows facing both the pool and the sea (or rather the next building towards the sea), a large(?) bathroom with a window and a separate storage/powder room, also with a window. Everything looks new, though the bathroom has a few issues: the shower head is one of the worst I ever used, and the shower overflows quickly (3-4 minutes and the water is all over the bathroom). AC seems too loud even with the lowest fan setting. Room had only 2 bottles of water (asked for more, delivered) and only Lipton Yellow Label "tea" sachets (asked for some green tea ones, not delivered).
Pool/beach: both look nice, but had no time to visit today, so will report tomorrow
Fitness center: I've seen better ones at 4Ps. Almost a dozen cardio machines, but not much else. Expected better from LM
F&B: reasonable prices, so-so service. First I ordered a burger (320THB++) from room service and got the wrong type of fries despite stating the requested one several times by the phone. Burger was ok for Thailand. Dinner: was escorted to a table, asked for my drink (I ordered a Tiger). Left my table to have a looong look at the offerings which were ok, though I've seen better variety and consistency (eg. they had both beef and pork on grill, but no potatoes in any form, just rice and vegetables). Returned to my table - no beer. 5 minutes, no beer. Ended up asking another waiter for it. Signing the bill after the meal (for the beer) also took a few minutes.

I've checked in today and wanted to share my first impressions. - (Temedar you winn this race, I came late at night)

We have transfer from Phuket airport and cost will be added to our room bill, trip at dead empty streets take 1.5h. Driver was perfectly, he don't starts to talk to us and ask from where we are and whata bal, bla .. he drive fast but very safe.

We was preupgraded from cheapest room to one bedroom suite, when we had checkin front desk staff change our booking to Pool Villa (for 8 nights) what I see most staffs are young and have positive attidute to work. What I understand at checkin this cupon at diner not cover cost of drinks.

Hotel from outside:

Hotel entrance :

At the lobby you have ATM machine :

Breakfast and dinner restaurant this will have long way than you can feel here LaReciple vibe.
Now I feel exactly as I eat breakfast at tour operator restaurant:
1.Young guest woman came here in bikini with mesh tunika on it only
2.Exposition of food at restaurant not LeMeridien feel
3.Cheese exposed to 25 temperature, consistency not etable for me
4.Furniture and design typical for tour operator restaurant
5.Restaurants staffs are nice but I feel like they work little a bit chaotic
It is now maximum good Four Points level.

Pools :

Green area and beach :

Pool Villa - pool :

Hotel is very silent now for us is good we like it.

thank you for the reviews.

Like i previously commented upthread that this resort should not be branded as a Le Meridien. Judging from the pictures on their website (and also the reviews above), it should be branded as a Courtyard or Four Points instead. the beach seems nice though.

I really miss the old LM Khoa Lak (now Robinson).

Thanks for the great report and pics. Reminds me of the Sheraton Hua Hin.

4P is harsh, though the breakfast does remind me of a really good 4P one too - but better Should've probably been a CY.
