Sure they are. In addition to higher-quality produce, the R-C probably includes garnishes, and has higher-paid chefs and waiters and higher-quality tableware, plus pays more rent (or sits on more expensive land) and has more capital invested in the dining room, etc. And I have certainly enjoyed high-quality artisanal bacon, prepared to order, compared to the thin strips off of the microwavable tray that are typical at a Courtyard.

I agree that it would be nice if R-C offered complimentary breakfast, but I can see this as unrealistic.

I believe RC use golden egg laying hens as their egg supplier :D

For buffet breakfast, RC breakfast should be on par with St Regis or Luxury Collection hotels.
However, for club lounge offering, I believe generally RC lounge does have more extensive offering for food.

Alcohol wise its depends on their location. On a country that typically have high tax on alcohol (Indonesia for example) One can expect the offering is very weak.
Rc Kuningan Jakarta only have 1 type of cheap wine for each red and white and prosecco instead of proper champagne.
Keraton Jakarta and Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua offer similarly weak wine and prosecco.

I can understand about RC not granting access to their lounge for elites, however the absence of breakfast offering is a bit odd.
They should provide similar benefit as St Regis and Luxury Collection hotels.

Do RC clubs keep tabs of what each individual person consumes (based on name/room number)? I have kept an informal tab of various clubs asking them questions if they have a way to do revenue management? They have all said that they do, which leads me to believe they mark down what each room/person consumes to determine who is valuable or not (perhaps even entering it into a larger revenue management/guest management too). Does anyone know anything about that? Would be fascinating and make a lot of sense, too.

The good club lounge managers do certainly keep track of your preferences, so they can bring out the usual as you come in, or just confirm if you want the usual this time as well.

Whether they also keep track of the amount consumed is a more unclear question. It is certainly not anything that stops them from being continously generous with the pours.
