What happens if one of my shorter stays didn't get posted, while another longer stay just posted, so not getting the double bonus?
This is my scenario, I had a 1 night stay on March 21st at a JW, which has not been posted. But another 4 night stay from March 24-28 at a Marriott that just posted, and that did not get the double bonus, but did get recorded in my promotions counter as 1 stay for the promo.
So what happens when they catch up and post my Mar 21st stay? There is a difference getting a bonus on the 4 nights instead of the 1 night. Will they correct this?

Marriott IT is totally messed up....I think they should expend the energy to fix that first, before they try to take on more updates.

So the conclusion seems to be that people should be more knowledgeable about what they are talking about before posting so assertively about something they understand nothing about.

that may be the conclusion for you....but the fact is that true cash & points bookings are not eligible for this promo so the ones who said that assertively knew exactly what they were talking about....

in reality there now seem to be 2 different types of cash & points....

one is cash & points which have a fixed cash & points component depending on what category the property is....the other is a cash & points combination where the cash component is different per night but the points combination stays the same depending on what category the property is....this is reality is the same as booking separate points & revenue bookings on consecutive days with the convenience of having everything under a single reservation number....

the first one is not an eligible rate for this promo as it is considered an award stay while the second one is eligible as part of the stay is a revenue booking....this would be no different from booking an award stay on day one & a revenue stay on day two....the award stay would not count but the revenue stay would....

the first one can be booked for a one night reservation while the second can only be booked for multiple night reservations....

the first one is called 'cash + points' & is being promoted by marriott as a way of redeeming points while the second one is simply building a cash + points combination over multiple nights....

till the poster cleared which one he/she was talking about, there was no way to tell whether it was option one or two....

This seems like a harsh interpretation, especially seeing as Marriott has apparently preserved the SPG-style C+P in some form per the link in post 345.

A more charitable and community-oriented takeaway might be that it's useful to recognize when people may be coming at a situation from different cultural or contextual perspectives that may be inhibiting effective communication.

As expected, my second stay appeared before the first one, so I got wrongly double bonus points for the first stay instead of the second one (longer and more expensive...).
I asked for assistance and I am waiting.
It's very strange that the system is not able to identify check out dates to give the bonus...

I don't know if this was ever clarified. But what did it mean in the terms "credit card that was used to register for this promotion" We didn't ever "use" a credit card to register at all... "To be eligible to receive the Card Member bonus, Card Member must have an active Marriott Bonvoy member account linked to their credit card that was used to register for this promotion"

Usual wording issues - "credit card that qualifies them for this promotion" would have been clearer.

Same situation for me. First stay posted after second stay. First stay received double point bonus while second, longer, stay didn't. Marriott IT simply add bonus based on posting sequence, not on stay sequence. I am short more than 5K points but not sure if it is worthwhile to pursue. I had to follow up multiple times to get my first stay posted so don't want to risk messing it up again.

Perhaps Marriott should clarify T&C of this promo where first/second means posting date, not stay dates.

I would definitely follow up on this. They should have the ability to post the difference as goodwill points once the rep understands the situation.

Same thing happened to me as above posters mentioned. My short, one night stay, was followed by a 6 night stay. The 1 nights stay posted after the 6 night stay. As such, I am missing out on 8800 points for the 6 night stay.

it is beyond annoying that Marriott keeps messing things up. I am going to follow up. They took 7 days after checkout to post the one night stay yet the 6 night stay posted the next day after checkout.
