Your response seems to suggest that any hotel is allowed to make all of their award stays nonrefundable even though regular rates have the standard 48 or 72 hours before arrival cancellation deadline. Is this a change in SPG/MR >>> Bonvoy policy?

Hi Intl359Widget,

We have checked and noticed there was no room availability for paid rate for 7 September, 2019 at Four Points by Sheraton Knoxville Cumberland House Hotel.
We will look into the cancellation policy for redemption booking further with this hotel.

We are also checking the cancellation policy for the hotels in Maldives for December 20, 2019 to January 15, 2020 as mentioned.

Just wanted to provide an update.
While The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is working to fix the cancellation policy on website, the other hotels in Maldives shall now display the correct cancellation policy.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

Cash Deposit For Awards

And now here's the latest . . . Marriott properties charging your card at booking for a cash deposit on award stays, combined with an outrageous cancel policy (in this example, must cancel 60 days prior to stay): Marriott's Sneaky Award Hold Fees

This may be the final straw for me.

I would also be interested in this; I booked back in August 2018 for a 7-day stay at the end of July; surely they cannot charge me 360,000 points or the cash rate:

"Please note that we will assess a fee if you must cancel after this deadline. If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card. This fee equals your room charge plus tax for all the nights of your reservation."

Could you please provide your reservation confirmation number to us via private mail here or by email below, so we may have a look?

Could you review this for the RESIDENCE INN WASHINGTON, DC/DUPONT CIRCLE? I'm seeing many dates later this year where there are flexible rates with a 2 day cancellation policy, but the award nights all have the "non-refundable after 24 hours" language for the same room types & dates.

Thanks!
