Just wondering what ex SPG members are experiencing these days? I have been SPG platinum for a decade and moved across to Platinum Elite. I am finding that I receive far less upgrades post the merger and when I do, it is often a better view or a higher floor: rarely do I get enhanced rooms these days, let alone suites! Am I alone?

Hotel Danieli is officially our best upgrade ever (even better than Suiran which upgraded us for 8 nights to the Presidential Suite). In 2007 the Danieli upgraded us to an unbelievably gorgeous Royal Suite for 7 nights which back then sold for 6000 euros per night. On a points stay!
We will never forget that.

Front Desk referred to Suite as a Kona suite, but have no idea how they came up with that name, Large Suite - my only first world complaint would be to put a bigger TV in the bedroom and match TV in the living room. Breakfast is only continental - there is a lounge, very very basic offerings in evening.
