Marriott loyalty ? Status promised, guaranteed and not assigned later !

Marriott loyalty ? Status promised, guaranteed and not assigned later !

Who is in this same situation as I, all info about status conditions for 2019 published in 2018 told you if you make THIS conditions you will have THIS status in 2019 (LTPEE, PL+Ambassador etc...).

But now you will have answer as sameone put on Sami Chu blog :' here’s your response form Marriott.
” Just a little bump. BTW, we don’t care so please stop asking.” - Arne Sorenson ' .

Last year I have on year counter 100 nights (only in SPG hotels) and waiting extra with Annual Choice benefit till end of year if it will be any problem with my 5night award stay at Corfu I will keep open Annual Choice with extra 5 nights to my 2018 nights counter and on 15.January when it was possible make choice of Annual Choice - I choose 5 nights to my 2018 nights. This mean I will finish 2018 with totaly 105 nights at SPG only network. But today I have answer form WIlliam that sorry 'You will not have PPE+Ambassador 2019 you did not have enough qualifying nights to earn an Ambassador (in 2018)' without any maths explaining what's going on.

In November I made one night stay which push my year counter to 100 nights and starts asking when I will have Ambassador status, no one answer in that case I wrote email to general Ambassador email and have answer :

Hands fall .... If I know where is problem I would make some nights additionally and I had time for it from mid-November but in this scenario corporate answer is 'We have you and you will not do anything'

So how many SPG nights do you think you had in 2018 and how many does Starriott think you had? I'm confused. Did your SPG account ever show 100 nights credit or did your SPG or combined account ever show that you had earned AMB status?

All this text and nothing makes sense.
The night counter was showing wrong figures last fall. Did you or did you not complete 100 nights during 2018?
Shouldn't be that difficult to add all of your stays with nights and pick up your calculator.

According to the info posted, the OP thought (or knew) he had at least 100. Same for Marriott, who said "After reviewing your account, we do have you formally [at] 100 Nights."

My November statment show 99 nights :



On 20.November in my aplication at 'Account Activity' is last one night stay (cash payed night) and after next 5 days after this last stay my counter show 100 nights, and Mr. Drew at 6.December confim that I have 100 nights at SPG. December statment never came to my email. Exactly this same with missing win awards in last sweep game but tis is so small amount that I don't care and it is not worth claim to Marriott. But not asigned new status a big loss of credibility.

How many SPG nights did you actually have? 99 or 100?

Also, if you were to choose five elite nights credit (instead of SNAs, etc., which of course would be an implicit cost to you, but AMB status would presumably help with free upgrades anyway) would that count for 2018 or 2019?

SNA will be usless at this year you will see and I have feeling that thay don't want count award stay 5 nights - to 2019 Ambassador status and keep this benefit till end as last bullet.
I had 100 nights plus five elite nights credit it' totaly now 105 nights. System counter was correct in December 100 nights.
I counted manually and checked the whole year growing up the counter because I expected problems. This is not a counter problem.
Till 18.August I had 94 nights and all was correct, September 5 award nights at Corfu, November 1 night at Krakau, January 15 5 elite nights from Anual Award equal 105 nights at SPG counter.

If you were told you didn't have enough nights to qualify, how many nights did they say you had and how many nights did they say were required to have an Ambassador? That info might help clear up your situation a bit.

I'd start by very carefully making a list from receipts and entries for points credits of exactly how many nights you had with each SPG stay. If you get to 100, submit all of the documentation to Starriott. If there's an error, try to figure out exactly what happened.

@ hhoope01 : exactly this is core of my problem, nobody answer me where is problem till last hour. More they in 6.December confirm me that all is OK you have 100nights and week and next week waiting same emails between or calls with question any news ? ... two days ago when my patience has ended I send email to William. After posting this here I have email from William where was info that mybe counter is wrong (Marriott IT quality) and that they calculate by hand my nights and result is 74 nights. If I look at this chart I see at once that in it is missing 'Double Nights, Doble Stays' promo in April-May and calculation don't have extra 29 nights, next 15 min I discover missing 2 nights (multiple rooms) from my February Four Points Cancun stay. After our trip to Cancun I check points activity and nights/stay counter and all was corrected what was missing and looks it is OK, but internal system looks like was not corrected (most mistakes if you work on database manualy forcing overwriting not using forms).

@ MSPeconomist : I am leisure traveler did I need keep all invoices after confirming my status and on points stay you don't have any invoice if you don't pay anything at this hotel (multiple rooms). Yes, I keeep all invoice all year but how long you want collect all papers (privat stays) ?? Printscreens at end of year .... ok you will have info IT problems maybe counter is wrong showing ... past points activity is deleted from system. Exactly this same I had with my question about lifetime year answer was : counter IT problems it was shown wrong at SPG and all is correct now (my life time as Platinum still show amount years from 01.JAN.2018 at SPG counter and we have near end of JAN.2019).

It sounds like the problem is that Starriott now isn't counting the "nights count double" promo as that would send your nights count from 74 to 103. Is this right?
