Both downgraded to Gold "benefits" aka S.F.A.
Hmm looks like I will need to make some decisions re: upcoming stays then. Thankfully most of my reservations are flex so I can cancel them out if I see better properties.

My wife's status shows as Platinum Elite even though it should have expired by this year -- not sure why. Does that mean she's 'safe' until the end of the year? We're looking at making a reservation in late December but don't want to risk not having Platinum benefits at that time in case the status expires beforehand. Or do hotels generally honour the status at the time of booking?

I'd rather not reach out to Marriott to inquire about then the status expires, because I'm afraid they'll 'catch' the glitch and downgrade it manually.

They haven't caught & downgraded my glitch either...at this point, decent chance you're safe

Marriott has been known to extend status based upon historic activity, so good chance you are good (I was carried over three years). Of course they can review the account at any time and change their minds so nothing is totally "safe". If the account is downgraded after making the booking, there is a chance the property might refresh a reservation (especially if you make a modification) at which time they should get whatever is current. The only hard and fast way to make sure you get the benefits in December is to earn the status before then. Everything else can be in the air.

How to find your status expiration date?

Is there any way to view this online or in the app? I'd like to find the hard date in writing.

My situation isn't completely cut and dry and I want written proof of status expiration.

no way to see this online. Got to write or call to get an answer.
One hint can be 'zero nights needed to renew status'. This basically tells you you re-qualified.

Guess I'll have to email bonvoy to get something in writing. Trying to plan 2020 travel and would hate to book all those nights now if status isn't guaranteed through next year. Long story but they had to manually input my status which cleared this calendar year.

Hi saaveraward! If you send a private message or email us at [email protected] with your Marriott Bonvoy number and full name, we can check your status expiration date.

Thank you for the offer to help, but why can't Marriott Bonvoy just put this information somewhere on our account profile on the official website and App when we login online ? Why must we all send an email to find out when our status expires ?

Every other hotel lotalty program is able to show me my status expiry date when I login online....but Marriott Bonvoy can't ?

How do you find the status expiry date on Hilton's website or app? I've never been able to find it!

It resets at the end of February (or did last year). If you check-in as a Platinum before the end of February, you'll be treated as such for the stay (even if you drop to Gold midway through).
