Technically Marriott is correct in this instance. No one has spent any money under Marriott Bonvoy on Day 1.

Not sure if this has been answered before.

Does $20k spend only apply to room rate or does it apply for room service and or food and beverage charges while staying at the hotel?

It does require a *special* kind of contempt for your customers to add a spend component and then refuse to show them what they have actually spent

this is insane. Mind you I’m sure there are lots of other IT problems to fix - but why not have an accurate tracker? I can truly understand why people are running to Hilton.

Pretty soon someone here will be up to 50 nights. We'll see whether the spend will automatically appear this year without a glitch.

In fact with 10 meeting nights, someone could already be there.

With that logic then no one has any nights or points either...

It was simply a design failure by Marriott IT thinking that it has no importance to anyone until they have the ability to be an Ambassador member. But the are missing a very important point, how is one to verity their spend? Waiting until you've reached 50 night will make it very tough to know if the number is correct... nevermind, I answered my own question.

It was a tongue in cheek kind of post but you're also right.

It's not a "design failure" - it is a business decision to increase opacity, which we have seen time and again seems to be the Marriott MO now, as it likes to act like a monopolist

Marriott Spend Meter

Hi all,

In my overview for my profile it says I have 15 nights and $0 spent...

I have a decent shot at ambassador this year, but is this an IT failure? Is there somewhere else to track this? The activity records show points, but I'm not seeing the spend anywhere else.

From what i have read on here people have been saying the spend won't show up until after your 50th night. But don't bank on that with the IT issues.

I concur. Your spend figure should pop up once you’ve done 50 nights. That’s what happened for me last year.

FWIW - my 15 bonus nights just hit (credit card) taking me to 56 nights in 2019. no spend tracker has appeared yet.
