I honestly have no idea what the true count for me should be (I suppose none of us does given the proprietary nature of the equation). I can afford to not be incremented for 2018; I also can afford to lose a couple of years and still qualify LTTE. But somehow that doesn’t placate me completely (call it a lack of confidence in Marriott IT), and hence the question. Hopefully at some point soon Marriott will be willing to come out and say that no more scripts/sweeps will be ran that will impact LT years one way or the other - they seem to be OK saying this about nights (although there’ve been recent reports of LT nights credit moving erratically, e.g. nights going down following a stay). |

Is it only me or does the Marriott-released video promoting Bonvoy mispronounce Marriott? It pronounces Marriott as "merri-yacht" whereas I've always understood -- and heard Marriott corporate -- pronounce it as "merry-itt"

One wonders if those complaining about Bonvoy are those who also complain that the Marriott terms and conditions don’t literally and explicitly spell out every possibility for every possible scenario they can imagine. Obsessive compulsive, perhaps? How about spell it out for the common scenarios. Like what time do I have to cancel my room by in order to not be charged? |

Yes, I specifically posed a question regarding this earlier today. Thus far no response, which may or may not be telling - it’s too early to tell! ;-) I honestly have no idea what the true count for me should be (I suppose none of us does given the proprietary nature of the equation). Great point! Your list can go on and on- Google, Uber, Amazon, Taser, Xerox, Frisbee, Velcro etc. Made up or borrowed words that became meaningful through usage. |

A business doesn’t want to pin itself down needlessly. Especially since every single rate on Marriott.com and every hotel confirmation spells out that information, anyway. |

There are differences - however slight. You note them. There are more points awarded, and slightly better options for reservations and what not. Again - if these don't matter, why not demote all the LTPPE to LTPP? There is no difference, right? It shouldn't matter at all? The levels in Marriott's loyalty program since August 18, 2018, have been: Member Silver Elite Gold Elite Platinum Elite Platinum Premier Elite (becoming Titanium Elite on February 13, 2019) Platinum Premier Elite with Ambassador (becoming Ambassador Elite on February 13, 2019) The lifetime levels since August 18, 2018, have been: Lifetime Silver Elite Lifetime Gold Elite Lifetime Platinum Elite Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite (becoming Lifetime Titanium Elite on February 13, 2019) Here on FlyerTalk, people tend to leave off "Elite" when writing about the levels. That means LTPPE and LTPP are same thing, just different abbreviations. |

I've noticed that those questions have nothing to do with the subject matter of the thread, so they will not be discussed here. If anyone needs to be reminded that once the loyalty team has completed their year-end true-up that you will be notified where you stand via email, let's find another thread to discuss that.
TIA Best regards, William R. Sanders Social Media Specialist Marriott International [email protected] I’ve always appreciated your refreshing testiness - until just now! ;-) Let’s break this down: 1. Your above quoted dialog was between one FT member and another: 2. My question earlier posed (and in a reasonably respecful fashion, I believe) to the other Lurker - the actual question you or someone from your team would ideally have been responding to in my view - was direcly in response to something a Lurker had posted earlier today; I did not bring this topic into the thread to begin with - one of your colleagues did, kind sir. Namely, a claim was made (or perhaps repeated - I’m not sure which) regarding Marriott’s level of confidence in LT nights - notably absent was any reference to Marriotts’s confidence in LT year count. That seems a legitimate and reasonable follow-up question since nights only addresses half of the non-legacy LTTE equation, no? Respectfully - and thank you all, Lurkers. And congratulations on what I regard to be a significant positive accomplishment here today on the part of Marriott. |
