Friend booked hotel, can I earn points if I pay?

I have been extremely busy with work and haven't had time to research hotels to stay at in Indonesia. A friend kindly helped booked a hotel. Since I'm the one paying can I request they change the points earning to me?

Will you be physically staying there, in person?

You need to be listed as a guest and physically there to check in. Your friend can stay overnight without you.
