Stay Subsidies
Have any folks here subsidized or taken subsidies for stays under another individuals account?
If so, who ends up paying in the end, is the guest expected to place his or her card down before or during check-in? And what are typical subsidies (costs/payments per night) you have seen in the market?
Thanks!

It could be considered fraud.
It could cost you a lot of money, for example if room is damaged or if the person paying uses stolen credit card, etc.
It's a great way for both parties to lose (perhaps permanently) whatever frequent guest privileges they have.
If someone else's name is on your room reservation, that person can show up at the hotel at anytime, tell front desk that key card was lost, and upon showing a photo ID that matches the name, instantly get a key card to steal your stuff, snoop on your phone, drug you, assault you, leave illegal substances behind in the room, smoke in the room, etc.

Your best bet is to email Marriott asking them how much to charge or pay. Explain to them that you either want to subsidize someone staying in a room under your account or stay yourself, being subsidized to stay under someone else's account. Since there may be geographical differences, or different amounts depending on Marriott status, you should include your names, the hotel name and the MR# associated with the account. Marriott would have experience with these types of arrangements and would be in the best position to provide the information you need.
