What was the form of the names of the hotels where you didn't get 6x? Did they have "Marriott" or "Sheraton" or some other well know brand in the first few words of the name, or were they of the form "The Such-and-Such Hotel, a Member of the Whatever Portfolio"? And if the latter, did the full name appear on the credit card statement, or since the brand was at the far end of the name, did it drop off?
One said "Rio Hotel" in my statement, which was a Courtyard in Rio, Brazil.
Three of them were AC hotels and listed as AC hotels in my statement. All three are in Spain and Portugal.
One hotel was the Pine Cliff Resort (appearing as Pine Cliffs Resort in my cc activity). This hotel is in Portugal.

All 5 hotels only gave me 2x points for "non marriott spend", and I had to call for adjustments to receive 6x.
