Seems like no one has reviewed this hotel, so I'll add something.

Looking for a Bonvoy property on our road trip, the Nagoya Associa might have made a bit more sense but was 2-3 times the price of the Four Points and I wasn't eager to drive into the center of the city.

Prepaid rate of ¥14,000 wasn't bad and used a suite upgrade award to get a 40sqm corner junior suite (which was pretty nice and had a great view, but not really that big since the bathroom takes up a fair bit). That normally goes for ¥50,000. Bit irritated they wouldn't give me the empty 70sqm suite on the top floor (told I could have it for an extra ¥30,000). If we got that we could have invited my son (although he enjoyed his own room at the Comfort next door).

No welcome drinks or gifts, aside from the choice to have a free breakfast or 500 points. Free parking on site (or if full free ticket for the large lot next door). Nice staff.
Had to go down to the first floor to get the ice bucket filled.
Tiny convenience corner with snacks and drinks. Regular convenience store 5 minute walk.
Bar on first floor was closed (COVID) but we could use the free pool table.
Fitness room was in good shape; cardio machines and dumbells.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of local Nagoya dishes in addition to normal fare.

We walked to the domestic terminal in 10 minutes. The international side would be about 15-20. There is a shuttle but it only took us 300m to the elevator.

Much better than expected, good location for airport (27 Photos)

Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya, Chubu International Airport

Since I had an early morning flight, I selected for this rather newish Marriott branded property (I believe it was < 3 year old) close to Nagoya Chubu International airport for 1 night.

Location

The property is located about 5-10 mins walk from the Nagoya Chuba airport station. Outside of that, there is not much in the area outside of other nearby airport hotels.  It is located next to the water, therefore the waterview is quite assured.   The hotel does provide an airport shuttle especially during the morning hours - which I did not use as the walk to the airport was very doable even with large luggage.  There is a walk bridge connecting the terminal to this airport hotel area.

Check In

I arrived quite late, around 11 pm at the property to intially an empty lobby area but did get busy after.  I was helped immediately by what seems to be the only agent working that evening.  I already saw on the Bonvoy app that one of my room was already upgraded to a Junior suite, while the 2nd room in my reservation was the room type that I had reserved.  This was quite a long time ago as an Elite Titanium that I received an upgrade especially at a Four Points property.  I was asked to select my welcome gift which I selected for the breakfast - since it already starts at 6 am which gave me sufficient time to have breakfast before going to the airport (since I knew at that the JAL domestic lounge would have zero options for breakfast).

One of the room was on a lower floor, while the Suite was on the highest floor of the property (5th if I remember correctly).  As expected it was a very spacious room - although without any separated bedroom and living area.  The interior decoration of the hotel was aviation based and on the industrial concept - with a lot of dark tones - which I liked a lot, but I guess this is very personal point.  On the other hand, there was no real option to brighten up the room further as the lighting was limited too - so it's not the best if you're someone who prefers a more lighted/bright room.  The room had a large floor to ceiling windows facing the water, which in the morning I already noticed would have given the room a very bright feel with the natural lighting.

There was no closed wardrobe, but it was an open concept.  The bed was the main object in the room with the working desk situated behind the headboard area (this reminded me of the Metropol Belgrade property room).  Outside  of this, there was a small sitting area with a nice view towards the water and the terminal and hotel buildings.

There was also a nice small welcome in room gift as an Elite member.

IMG_20221020_221950985.jpg

The TV was of a larger size with the usual channels for an international chain hotel in Japan.  Internet speed was good - stable and worked well for usual usage.  The climate control in the room worked well being silence and managing to keep the room temperature as desired.

Sleep quality was good - the bed did seem to be the US King size option - with a nice supportive matrass and good duvet.  There was zero disturbance from exterior and interior noise.

The bathroom size was good - especially the shower area - which had the combined bathtub and walk-in showe type option.  The only negative of the bathroom area was that there was not really much space to place your own toilet bags nor toiletries with the sink area being small and already taken up by the hotel's toiletries amenities.  Water pressure and temperature control was good.

Breakfast

Breakfast was served on the 1st floor at what looks to be the hotel's main restaurant (on the ground floor there was a more casual bar area spilling into a generic open public space area). Breakfast options were ok - buffet style which mainly consisted of cold and salad dishes.  The concept here seems to be that for the hotel items - you can select either the Westen option (which was omelet based) or Japanese option (rice and salmon) - which most probably means, no refills or getting additional hot items outside of this order.  Outside of that - all other items were available in the buffet selection.

I believe that maybe there was a sort of misunderstanding at least for my party of 3 - as I selected breakfast as my welcome gift, I had assumed that it would have been valid for the party of 3 - although I believe this was not the case as I was asked a few times if I had additional vouchers for my other 2 travel mates. Since for me it was a quick bite and leave, I did not really pursue this also I guess due to the language barrier I was not further questioned on this.

Overall

All in all, a very nice and comfortable stay.  For the price paid, I found the value for money to be good.  This will certainly be my go to property especially as the only Bonvoy based property close to the airport.  The location is very good for late arrivals or early morning departure flights.

Much better than expected, good location for airport

How far is this hotel from "city center". I am thinking to do a "stop over" in Nagoya on my way to Tokyo from Osaka.

Is it worth the saving (around ¥8000 per night for 2 nights)?
