Platinum Benefits on Meeting Rates

I’m at a Spanish Westin Hotel where my company is holding a three day meeting, and master billing the rooms. My room is in my name with my MR number attached. However the hotel says that the Platinum breakfast benefit for my wife is not applicable.

Anyone know differently?

It could be that even giving you the breakfast benefit is something they don't have to do.

4.1.c. Benefits of Elite membership apply to stays on Qualifying Rates (as described in Section 2.1.e.) ...

2.1.f Non-Qualifying Rates. A “Non-Qualifying Rate” is a rate a Member pays for a Stay in a guest room at a Participating Property which does not qualify to earn Points or Miles, as well as membership tier benefits. Non-Qualifying Rates are those booked using the following methods:

i. The guest room was booked through a tour operator, online travel channel or other third-party channel including, without limitation, expedia.com, hotwire.com, priceline.com, orbitz.com, booking.com, travelocity.com; or

ii. The guest room was booked at a group rate as part of an event, meeting, conference or organized tour, and the Member does not directly pay the Participating Property for such room; or

iii. The guest room was booked at a tour operator, wholesaler, or crew room rate or package including, without limitation, Fam-Tastic® rates, Plan-Tastic® rates, travel industry rates and organized tours or package bookings; or

iv. The guest room was booked at the Company employee or friends and family rate or the Company business rate; or

v. The guest room was complimentary; or

vi. A voucher or third-party award was redeemed for the guest room.

Yes, and according the the T&Cs William has posted even you may not be entitled to Plat benefits. Companies have the ability to negotiate just about anything they want when booking rooms. If the elimination of status benefits lowers their room rate, they may go for it. Also, Master billed rooms preempt credit for the stay. Although you may get credit for incidentals billed to the room that you pay for at check out. I've been to many such conferences where no credit is due, but if a repeat customer to the property, I might at least get a room upgrade and lounge access. But that was the pre-merger day, not sure what I would expect these days.
