Hospes Palacio de los Patos, Design Hotel - Granada, Spain [Master Thread]
Hotel website. Cat 5.
https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...design-hotels/ "A 19th-century palace and a dramatic modern building form the two parts of Hospes Palacio de los Patos. An urban retreat, the palace retains original details, such as mosaics, trompe l'oeil ceilings, and a grand marble staircase; while the alabaster-clad building next door is a vision in white. From cuisine to landscaping, authenticity and originality were the guiding principles for creating a sensory experience that brings the rich cultural history of Granada into the future.ARCHITECTURE & DESIGNHospes Palacio de los Patios combines dramatic classical design with equally stunning modern architecture. The palace building, with its striking façade and wrought-iron balcony, features carefully renovated original elements. These are complemented beautifully by the modern structure, which is connected to the older building via an underground walkway and ingeniously covered with water tanks. Highly contemporary design features are accompanied by sleek and sophisticated alabaster-white interiors." |

Remy how was it? I'll be there in 3 weeks. Any recognition as a Plat+ member?
The hotel consists of the historical palacio, which has 10 rooms if I counted correctly. The main rooms are in a new building (~44 rooms?) which is very different from the palacio itself. I saw rooms in both buildings, but decided on the quirkier palacio. All rooms in the palacio are very different. Think Venice "Danieli" style key which you leave at the front desk. The rooms in the palacio look very nice, the toiletries are of good quality but the furniture feels a bit tacky/cheap. spg recognition was okay (some leeway with late checkout, but no breakfast, for example). Some staff members were nicer than others. There's a sauna/steam room area, but I didn't visit. Edited to add: points/nights still haven't posted. Lastly - the surrounding area is rather uninspiring and the palacio stands out with its entourage of rather .. aesthetically challenged buildings. It's not far from the miradors per se, but closer to shopping streets. A couple of weeks ago it had already gotten rather cold and rainy in Granada, so bring appropriate clothing :) Enjoy! |

As for points, nope. I got an email from the property that said they will post it manually but nothing was posted. So had to email my ambassador to post my stay. |
Will be staying on certs in a few weeks and will post impressions after the stay. Just got the welcome letter.

The room was looking good and modern style inside the old building but the dust was a problem as I'm allergic to it. The spa pool is nice and can be reserved 1h (but the women staff in the pool was not nice at all). Breakfast outside in the terrace/garden was fine (some a la carte choices) but expect some waiting time because the restaurant is understaffed (tried breakfast and caviar special dinner (caviar from local place)). Got a rate with BRG, globally satisfied with my stay. |

I was there last month, well no effort for late check out, but got upgraded to deluxe room from a dreamer room.

I think the biggest difference was coming from the Radisson Collection in Seville, we were spoiled by the staff there (with no status) vs just normal treatment in Granada with Gold (not much, I know) status. When we checked-in and when we checked-out in Seville they brought us ice water. In Granada there was water and glasses behind the desk but no one offered us anything. In Seville we were constantly greeted by name, asked if we needed restaurant reservations or help with anything, etc. vs. nothing in Granada. Anyway, the hotel is nice and the staff were responsive and friendly, just not proactive. |
I just finished my stay earlier this week. I checked the day before and day of for availability of my dates. There was plenty but the desk person said it was unavailable. I stayed at another hospes hotel in Sevilla and they did upgrade me. The only Marriott recognition they supposedly give is upgrades but don’t be hopeful.
dreamer room was nice, a little transparent? Bathroom door doesn’t really fully close. No A/C (I like the temps cool) and the noise outside on weekends can get a bit loud, we thought it was cute they had a small concert in the courtyard area. We did the spa. Kind of nice. Did it w/o masks. Didn’t do the massage. Some days the hotel smelled like sulfur. My partner said it was maybe from the spa. If you’re in the dreamer room, you’ll be in the next building, but it has its own entrance so not too weird. Every time you enter and exit you have to go through the restaurant though, so they some times get prompted to greet you to a table. Overall pretty nice. |
