Nothing is waived and, unless this changes, resort fees don't earn points and don't count towards the Ambassador spend requirement. Now go figure that out!

The hotel equivalent of absurd airline fuel surcharges

People seem to forget that the whole point of resort/parking fees was to be able to capture additional revenue outside of the base rate and guess what , additional revenue on AWARD stays. I have seen them reduced or waived previously (when resort fees were less common). Maybe a few hotels that are struggling with occupancy will waive to entice elites but I canít think of any at the moment.
If anyone thinks that your $50 per night parking fee is anything close to what a hotel pays on when they have to contract out for parking youíre way off. Also, aside from unique infill properties most hotels own (possibly through an affiliate) their own parking. Often times they will subcontract our valet jobs because not only do they save money on the front end it also makes it easier for them to dodge liability when your car is damaged.
MSPeconomist and strickerj like this.
