So, can this be a good deal for 6 nights? The booking that I am doing, I am seeing wildly varying daily cash rates. Using the "customize cash+points" I am seeing that I can book 5 award nights (with one free night), and I can pick and choose a cash night with the lowest rate?
More importantly, will hotels honor this, especially those outside US and/or those who have not had this option previously? Almost too good to be true.

Quick ? on these C+P rates - do they qualify for points on the paid nights? I know under the old SPG system Cash & Point rates were NOT eligible to earn points as it was viewed as a discounted rate. With these being "full" rates on the paid nights and point redemptions on the others I'd venture to guess the paid nights earn points as normal but never know?

What? I just got off the phone with Marriott and they told me that it WAS eligible to earn points. To be sure we're talking about the same thing here, these are the "customizable" cash & point redemptions not the older SPG type ones. As an example, I've setup reservation with 2 nights on points (50k/nt) and 3rd night paid full amount that was listed for room rate that night. That to me is different than the "Cash and Points" option listed on the Marriott page where a Cat 6 (same as where I'm looking) is normally 50k "standard" point redemption but with this chart is 27.5k points & $225. I know the cash portion of these rates are not eligible for points earning:

Where are all the Cash + Points Awards?
Legacy SPG guy here, where are all the cash + points awards? Marriott already made it harder to search for them, and the rates went up, but 18 or so hotel bookings since August and not a single stay has had the option available. These are not even that aspirational of stays. Does Marriott just offer drastically less inventory for these type of awards, or is it still being worked on with the acquisition? Cash + Points inventory was always less than all-points awards, but under SPG still generally available.

C&P doesn’t fall into certain inventory. Each hotel can offer as many, or few, or indeed no C&P rooms as they like. The difference is the payment the properties recieve from Marriott. With C&P the hotel receives more money than a plain redemption but unlike redemption there’s no possibility of a top-up if the hotel fills up. So if the hotel turns out full it ends up receiving just the agreed C&P rate which is a lot lower than they’d sell a room for, or the extra they’d receive from Marriott on a normal redemption. Basically SPGs C&P payment system was similar but SPG paid more to hotels for C&P, so for the Starwood hotels C&P was an attractive way to sell rooms, hence more SPG hotels offered C&P rates.

I have a lot of friends who have had no problem doing C&P for hotel stays, even at high volume times (booked way in advance). Although as BB says, hotels get screwed at high volume times because C&P is set at certain rate & hotel could get more. Heck, if hotel is 90%+ on award stays they get close to rack rate, but not for C&P stays.
FWIW - C&P is more complicated at front desk level to do, as they have to basically create 2 reservations (one for the cash part/one for the points).
Cheers.

I've been doing quite a bit of searching myself for Cash and points, and I had given up... I thought it was totally broken, but I did find this thread and now I have seen a few dates that actually have availability. Huge thanks to @CPRich for the screenshots!

Cash + Points Question
I tried searching but I can't quite find the answer to my question.
When booking a room, there are 4ish options. Cash, Points/Cert, Cash + Points, and Cash or Points.
As an example, day rate is 50, 50, 100, 200 at a Cat 3 hotel.
1. Cash - Pay 400 bucks - You can earn points
2. Points/Cert - 17,500 per night for 70k points. No points for booking
3. Cash + Points - Per day the cost amount is half the points and about the same price in cash. Eg. $80 + 8,500 Points for total of $320 + 34,000 points - No Points for booking
4. Cash or Points(Also called Cash + Points) - With this you pay 50, 50, 100, and 17,500 for 4th night for total of 200 + 17,000 points - For this option do you get points for the first 3 night and no points for the 4th?
5. Combo of 3 and 4 - 50, 50, 100, and 4th night 80 + 8000 for totyal of 280 + 8000 points. Do you earn points for first 3 nights and no point for the 4th?
For option 4 and 5, do we earn points for the cash portion of this booking or do I really need to make 2 separate booking for 3 nights and an award booking for the 4th? If the answer is no, I don't get the points, If for examples the rates were 50 200 50 200, do they really want us to book 4 bookings to pay for cash for the 50 and award for the 200s?
In the FAQ they say Cash + Point doesn't earn points for the cash portion, but I have no idea if they are talking about Option 3 or both Option 3 and Option 4.
If anyone can help answer this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t find a single hotel that is offering the new cash and points rates? How are you finding availability? I’ve checked multiple cities on very off peak weekend dates from now until July. Checked the various brands not even a Fairfield inn is offering it.
I’m following the instructions right on the Marriott web site but not seeing the new cash and points options.
The App doesn’t appear to work at all for cash and points it seems only the full web site.
I did find a few hotels that are offering the “old” Marriott cash and points which was one night full points, one night full cash but I’m looking for the new cash and points per the rate chart on Marriott.com.Hotel Category Off Peak(Coming Soon)StandardPeak(Coming Soon)1 50 USD + 2,500 Points55 USD + 3,500 Points60 USD + 4,500 Points2 60 USD + 5,000 Points65 USD + 6,000 Points70 USD + 6,500 Points3 70 USD + 7,500 Points80 USD + 8,500 Points90 USD + 9,000 Points490 USD + 10,000 Points105 USD + 12,000 Points120 USD + 13,500 Points5120 USD + 16,000 Points140 USD + 17,000 Points165 USD + 19,000 Points6165 USD + 22,000 Points190 USD + 25,000 Points225 USD + 27,500 Points7225 USD + 27,500 Points250 USD + 30,000 Points325 USD + 35,000 Points8325 USD + 35,000 Points440 USD + 42,500 Points635 USD + 50,000 Points
