The uncertainty derives from the fact that AMEX has since Day 1 used the Expedia platform for prepaid FHR, so they show up as Expedia bookings, and Expedia bookings are expressly NOT eligible rates. The uncertainty expanded when AMEX began booking ALL FHR rates through the Expedia platform.

Any DPs of Amex travel (not FHR) crediting points and/or elite nights?

Those are considered third party bookings and are not elite qualifying for nights or points

Elite benefits

What about getting elite benefits if booked on a prepaid FHR rate? I wasn’t offered any as a plat at check-in. Wondering if this is normal or if elite guarantees kick in?

Marriott datapoints seem all over the place regarding pre-paid FHR. In theory you should get all the benefits. It may be helpful to confirm that the booking show up on your account and email ahead of time to confirm.

It should. Was it showing in your account? MR number was added during booking?

DP - I stayed at St. Regis in KL a week ago and had points awarded including the 1k points welcome amenity.
Stay was prepaid booking via AMEX FHR and I added my MRR number when making the booking. The stay was visible in the MRR app, so I fully expected to get my points

Data Point - recently booked 3 nights at Barcelona Edition via Amex FHR, prepaid option. I put my loyalty number in during the booking process. After about two weeks, the stay was credited with points and elite nights without any needed intervention.

DP - I know that postpaid bookings are less controversial for points posting, but I'll add that my postpaid booking at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai IFC posted with no issues less than 24 hours later (fastest I've seen points post for any stay, let alone FHR).

Two more DPs:
Prepaid FHR stay at St.Regis Kuala Lumpur and prepaid Hotel Collection stay at Roomers Munich, Autograph Collection.
Both stays were added to my account and confirmed as earning points/nights by the lurkers on this forum.

I've booked a bunch of bonvoy properties using FHR this year and all of them showed up in the bonvoy app (as if I had booked direct). I got credit for the night as well. There's a place to enter your bonvoy loyalty # when booking the fhr rezzie. Make sure you do that.

DP: My Barcelona EDITION stay posted without points for my base rate (postpaid FHR). The Ambassador team seems to have resolved this within 24 hours.
