Marriott Email domains - avoid Phishing attempts
So, I've been having a bit of a struggle merging my SPG/MR accounts. The main problem is my name is slightly different on each account (think: Bob vs. Bobby). I continue to get warnings, messages, and email about this. I just received another email that is responding to an inquiry from FOUR months ago.
Anyways, this got me to thinking if this was some type of PHISHING request. I started to look through emails I have received to compare domain names. However, I find that I have many emails that don't all come from the same domain. These all would seem like "obvious" email domains but that is the secret sauce of phishing attempts to make them *look* real. Does anyone have a list of domains that Marriott/SPG would use to contact customers? Here are email the domains on emails I have received:

FWIW, I have all those whitelisted, but if you're ever unsure about who owns a domain, you may check here: https://whois.icann.org/en
BE CAREFUL, though- you generally have to look at the full headers of any particular E-mail you're unsure about as well. |
