Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points.

Finer print:
*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.

Registration is required. Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards (“Loyalty Program”) members who register for this promotion by January 7, 2019 will earn 2,000 bonus points per stay on stays of 2 or more nights at participating brands. Plus, members can earn an additional 1,000 bonus points per brand starting with the second brand at which the member stays during the promotion earning period. The promotion earning period is for stays between September 26, 2018 and January 31, 2019, at participating Marriott Rewards, SPG and Ritz-Carlton properties. A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion. The member receiving this offer has been targeted and the offer is not transferable. Bonus points will be awarded to the member’s account up to six weeks after the promotion ends. Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for bonus points and nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points. Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay. Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion. For a list of current participating brands, visit https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/earn/hotels.mi. All Loyalty Program terms and conditions apply. See https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi for more information. Visit www.Marriott.com/MorePlaces or call 888-MARRIOTT (888-627-7468) for complete details.

Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
  1. In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
  2. You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

There were two brand offers, right? 10K for 10 (or 29 for 29), as well as 1K each (minus the first).

I've had nothing yet, expecting 10K for 10, and 9K for all-but-first stay.

Angry

So Marriott is pissing me off:

I stayed in 14 brands. Since you get the 1K per brand starting with the 2nd brand, that equals 13K points.
Then the 10K bonus for 10 brands, I should be getting 23K points!

I called Bonvoy and after 20min of wasting my time, they setup a claim to investigate why I only received 3k points today

Stayed 10 brands, only one brand with 2 nights, rest were all single night stays.

Posted 1k points.

I guess we can tell how they counted what were eligible stays and it contradicts what Starwood Lurker mentioned.

Seems like I’m the odd one out. Stayed at exactly 10 brands (all 2 night stays). Received 19k points today!

I don't really understand all these posts. When I stayed in any of the different brands during the promotion, I got the 1000 point brand bonus added on to every stay as the points for that stay posted shortly after the stay. Are you all say that didn't happen for yourselves? Did you check your points for each stay? Could that 1000 points be included but you didn't notice it? What are you noticing now that you can say "i got xxxx points"? A separate line entry is posting to your points activity pages? What is that line labeled? Just trying to understand. Maybe I'll get 19,000 points too like tirajat just did...

There is a separate line entry that says “Q4 Megabonus 1K Bk” (or something like that). The extra 1000 extra points you noticed included in each individual stay could be your platinum gift, or make a green choice, etc.

Good grief I'm getting old. Have been thinking I was getting those points each time, but sure enough I just looked and the totals are for the most part 1000 short on each of the brand stays. Brain damage! Thank you!

I think Marriott official Twitter support also confirmed 1 night stays are eligible for brand points.

I got nothing so far. Looks like will need to escalate. So tired of this.

For those who don’t think they received anything, scroll down on your activities list. In true Marriott fashion, the points aren’t posted chronologically!

In my case, I noticed a change in my balance (remember, spreadsheet is the only way to survive Marriott idiocy). So I scrolled down, and the 18th line item (dated Feb 28) but scrunched in between Jan 27 and Feb 3, is where I found my 2000 bonus points!

I just checked my Megabonus points and see that I only received 3,000 points, for apparently 4 brands? I stayed at about 10 brands, so that's completely wrong again. This is such a waste of my time.

Sigh. For some reason my second stay did not show in the tracker. So I call in and they claim up and down "Oh, it hasn't been applied yet, you should be fine."

Hang up then see this thread.

This is not helpful. The Lurker team here is invaluable in their assistance. In this case (as in all cases), the team does not make things up. Someone dropped the ball here; it was not the Lurkers.

I also got 19K points as expected. I think pretty much all of my stays were at least 2 nights, but would be very frustrated along with the others on here if I'd not gotten brand credit for 1-night stays since it seemed pretty clear those were meant to count.
