Looking at a 5 night stay for my wife and I in 2021, hopefully. I am platinum and have 5 SNA's to use. Would you rather stay here or PDG with an SNA? Seems like the Berri Suite people tend to be booked into here is nicer than the Macassar that PDG usually assigns. Maybe the overall experience at PDG is better?

Well, I've made up my mind and I'm going with HdB over the PdG for several reasons.
- 60K less Marriott points for 5 nights.
- PdG doesn't seem to be accepting SNA's right now and HdB is. (huge)
- My wife seems to dislike stuffy properties, in general. She felt a little intimidated at the Park Lane London with the doormen and things of that nature. She loves luxury stays, just not places where the staff is always on their toes. She didn't mind a lower key stay at the WA Park City, though. I think the HdB will be a lot more "chill" to her.
- The suites offered for SNA's at the HdB seem bigger than the PdG. That's important for us. We like space.
- Breakfast in the room for elites

I had both a Junior Suite and the Berri Suite at this hotel. The Berri suite is an amazing room but is just separated by a wall in the middle of the room (more akin to a junior suite). The Junior Suite is more like a large US room. The Berri Suite I received (not sure if there's multiple) was in the basement and looks up into the courtyard so it can feel a little dark.

Recently stayed here as a Titanium for five nights. Used SNA and got park view junior suite (all suites were sold out 5 days before on their website). It was pretty spacious by Paris standards but not a true suite as expected. The sofa and chairs seemed designed primarily for appearance but were reasonably comfy. As the hotel was previously an office some weird columns in the room and the toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom. Overall I thought the room was pretty nice for Paris. I selected continental breakfast for my welcome gift and also got a welcome drink voucher which I didn't end up using. The main restaurant is still closed and so breakfast and all day food/drinks are served in the nicely designed bar. I thought the continental breakfast was high quality and a good selection for a continental breakfast but it got somewhat repetitive by the end of the stay. I also received some fruit and macarons in my room the first and some chocolates for Easter. Service was generally friendly although not over the top and we got turn down service daily as expected although one morning we got an unwanted wakeup call.
I thought the location was decent but not fantastic and was satisfied by my stay although I wouldn't think it compares to the better Paris luxury hotels.

The Hotel de Berri is one of the most unique and opinionated hotels I have stayed at in a while. There's a lot to get into here as first impressions are bizarre - Rue de Berri is not the most pleasant street in Paris and arriving to a bizarre glass facade next to a boarded-up and abandoned hotel is a bit disconcerting. Past the glass facade, you arrive into a hotel that feels like it was built simultaneously in 1930 and 2020 - the mix of old furniture and tablet controls is a major contrast. While the building creaks sometimes, it also has heated bathroom floors. I leave in complete confusion of when this building is from, but it adds an element of fun to this hotel.
Let's get it straight, though - while Prince de Galles is easily the safer option, I think this property is branded correctly and is quite nice - it's just less consistent and much more confusing. Let's get into the pros, cons, and photos:

Let's get it straight, though - while Prince de Galles is easily the safer option, I think this property is branded correctly and is quite nice - it's just less consistent and much more confusing. Let's get into the pros, cons, and photos:
Pros:
- SNAs cleared into the Signature Suite category (highest SNA category available) - I was very happy to receive the ostentatious decor pictured on the website - the associate claimed this was his favourite suite and that every room is designed differently
- The bed is quite comfortable - medium plush mattress (just right), plush covers, and while the pillows were soft, stacking two worked well
- Shower pressure was fantastic
- I loved the padded wall fabric - very unique
- Service was friendly and well-meaning - the associate at check-in and checkout was on days 1 and 2 of his return after a long break, so things were a bit slow - but he was nice, knowledgeable about the hotel, and walked me to my room
- Had to ask after check-in, but was given 4 PM late checkout by default after I asked for late checkout
- AC worked well
- Breakfast tasted good and was supposedly the American breakfast, which includes an egg dish (extra charge for Benedict or Royale, according to the menu) - my ham and cheese omelet was quite superb, and the croissants were good along with the coffee and juice - no charges appeared at checkout
- April, the hostess in the morning, was very friendly and helpful
- Heated bathroom floor was very nice
- Welcome gift was some flavorless meringues - I admit my disappointment comes from the fact that these French hotels don't seem to know how happy a macaron would make me
- Shower drain did not drain quickly
- The room is very dark, even with the curtains opened
- One of the wall sconces was missing from the wall
- The electronic control system was not reliable and not responsive - you'll find yourself using the manual buttons
- I couldn't figure out how to use the tablet to control the TVs - tapping buttons didn't seem to do anything, and one of the speakers on the ceiling made a horrible buzzing noise when the living room TV was on
- While April was very friendly, the rest of the breakfast staff left me sit in the middle of the restaurant for 10 minutes with no drinks, food, or interaction - they just never came to me - I noticed several other parties getting frustrated - you basically had to raise your voice or make ridiculous motions to get them to come to you - April was very helpful (again, not a server) after she was done helping several of the parties that seemed to only speak Chinese and asked me if someone had helped me yet
- Parents shouting at their children at breakfast was not a very good vibe

The fluffy and crispy croissants and pains au chocolat look VERY good, but the omelet is so sad looking.
Macarons: I would recommend the various locations of those 2 pastry houses:

Yeah that omelette looks awesome. 99% of the time omelettes are absurdly oily and the eggs burnt. I don't even bother it's so rare, but that one looks great.

Free macarons at various Marriott hotels better than Ladurée macarons: interesting.

If one of your stays is at the Westin Vendôme, I suggest that you give the full-size chocolate macaron at Ladurée another shot. Their historical patisserie is close by, rue Royale.
Pierre Hermé, that was the Chef Patissier at Ladurée for years, has a location avenue de l'Opera, that is also at a walking distance.
You can suggest the hotel in advance that you would like that as your in-room amenity ;-) .
