Hotel owners really are not cheerful, from what I read - except that the fee they pay for Marriott Rewards participating has been reduced slightly.
New York now appears to have 197 Marriott / SPG hotels. Is that really bringing you much value as an owner? There are only so many loyalists to go around. Arguably you might do better, in terms of getting business from the programme, running the 2nd Melia hotel in NYC rather than the 198th Marriott / SPG.
