Hotel Banke Opera, Autograph Collection - Paris, FR [Master Thread]

It looks like a new hotel is opening in Paris. I was planning on going in March however this hotel is currently not accepting bookings. If I book directly with the hotel, will the reservation convert to a Marriott booking sometime in the near future? Currently, they would have some of the lowest rates in Paris for (future) Marriott ~$225 a night.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a nice property. It's opening in December 2018. No category listed yet.

Hotel website:

https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...ph-collection/

"The five-star Hotel Banke is located in the centric and glamorous Opera neighborhood of Paris. The ideal location gives guests a close proximity to important Parisian landmarks, such as Place Vendôme, the Louvre or the Sacré-Cœur Basilica at Montmartre. Settled in an early 20th century building designed by the French architects Paul Friesé and Joseph Cassien-Bernard, the hotel presents a mixture of styles while maintaining the essence of the building’s history. Once the headquarters of a bank, it was refurbished in 2009 to be converted into the hotel it is today. Upon entering the hotel one steps into the astonishing lobby that stands out for the wide open space, the ceiling’s glass dome and the roman-style floor mosaic, as well as the combination of red and gold accents. A total of 91 individually decorated rooms and suites, with a combination of carefully selected materials, high-quality designer furniture and an exclusive art collection that result in unique spaces."

Thanks. Do bookings made before the property converts to Marriott usually move into a Marriott booking? If yes, should I expect Platinum benefits?

Now a December opening. Any idea what point category this property will be?

UPDATE: Cat 6 is now listed on Marriott's buggy website

I can never tell photos from renderings anymore, but the bathroom looks nice and spacious. The rooms look a little vanilla for me. Le Dokhan’s, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is really appealing to me lately.

Here is the hotel's website: http://www.hotelbanke.com/.

Oddly, there are numerous reviews for the hotel even though Marriott.com says it isn't open. The own's website also doesn't have any Autograph Collection branding on it, which leads me to believe this is a re-flagging.

For what it's worth, it is right behind the Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel.

Indeed, it is not a brand-new hotel, the venue has been operating for a couple of years under the 'Derby Hotels' brand.
I hope to stay there next year, it is a very good location in Paris. I have stayed many times at Renaissance Vendome, Park Hyatt Vendome, W Opera so I look forward to comparing the Hotel Banke to some existing accommodations.

Looks like a great addition to the Paris portfolio. Can't wait to try it out for a few nights.

The reviews aren't great.

Looks like this hotel is now bookable. The rates went up significantly now that it's a Marriott flagged property (about ~120 Euros a night).

The reviews of the property under its old brand were pretty bad so I wouldn't book until there are some good reports.

Thanks for clarifying. But given it was previously a different hotel brand/company in general I wouldn't shy away from booking it now that it's a Marriott brand. And obviously we won't get reports if you tell FTers not to book it :p

Cheers.

Perhaps if it was a regular Marriott brand, but given that it is flagged under Autograph Collection it is very likely the same managers and owners are in place.
