thanks for the update....its unfortunate that we won't be able to make these booking by ourselves till early 2019 but i'm glad there is an option to do so through our ambassadors (& possibly through the phone with other regular agents as well)....

Interesting. Cat 1 and 2 were not included in the legacy SPG 5th night free program. Though the rewards programs/sites are merged, the reservations systems are not fully integrated, so I suppose that explains the issue.

Good to hear that it's at least available manually, though that's probably somewhat difficult for those without an Ambassador.

Members can call SPG Rewards at 1-888-625-4988 or locate the phone number for the nearest customer engagement center here where our associates will be able to help book a reservation on points for 5 or more nights at a category 1 or 2 SPG branded property.

The problem is that since August, calling the Plat etc. number can result in more than three hours hold time, if indeed the call is even answered by a human being, let alone some knowledgeable agent. It's not a practical solution to say that we should just call SPG.

Yes, the contact info and process was not what was difficult - it's actually making it work.
