Transferring Bonvoy Points to Airline Program Miles [Discussion & Transfer Times]
 

Has anyone had any recent experience converting Marriott Points to British Airways Avios? Can you tell me how long it took?

New Program : How long to transfer points TO an arline, and between accounts ?
 

I just tested this out on my SPG account and it showed only 20k miles for 60k points, not 25k. I didn't actually do the redemption to see if the 5k bonus appears. Has anyone transferred points to miles yet after the IT merge?

I too tried to transfer points for mile but was afraid. Also the maximum you could transfer was 60K points - 20 K miles. I thought we used to be able to transfer more than 20K miles a day. Am I wrong???

I tried it. Didn't work.

I made 2 transfers early last week from SPG to take advantage of the old minimum and neither showed up at the other end.

Has anyone had success transferring points to an airlinesince August 18? I have tried numerous times on two computers and phone to transfer to Air Canada (Aeroplan) and get all the way to the end and then receive an error notice.

Yeah, and they refuse to transfer them over the phone. Also, you can't actually transfer the max. It's still using SPG's old metrics.

What the hell? How is this acceptable? It's been down for a week w/ no ETA? I need to transfer my pts ASAP!

^ yep this. I have a reservation on hold I can't confirm until this starts working (unless I outright buy the points which...oof).

On a side note, is there a chart anywhere that says what the transfer time should be to various airlines? I'm specifically interested in American but that would be a useful thing to have bookmarked. I can find it for SPG but not sure if it's the same for SPG and Marriott... maybe?

Well, there is speculation that transfer times will take somewhere along the lines of Marriott transfer times; i.e. in some cases, significantly less.

Any blogs cover this yet? Most of them pushed the Amex SPG for transferring to mileage programs, so the loss of ability to transfer ought to be huge...

Just spoke w/ the CSRs, no ETA yet. I expect it will be not available for at least several weeks up to a month or two.
