So it just finally hit me that there was indeed greater than a 33% de-valuation of the old SPG cards to airline miles conversions (not only the 3:1 -> 2:1 points but also the loss of the bonus miles).

What is the common wisdom on the best replacement card that I need to get so that I can get more value? I used to run mostly all spend on the SPG and then not have to worry about charging to my Delta, United, or American branded CC's because SPG's miles redemptions were so good.

What's everyone using now? Ready to shift spend. Thanks.

As you can see from the wiki, 9 out of 11 transfers to AS were received on a Wednesday. That's a pretty solid pattern. I assumed you did your transfer on Monday Feb 11, perhaps not enough time for it to happen on Wednesday the 13th. Hopefully, you will see the miles on the 20th.

Feel free to contribute your data point when the miles post.

Old conversion was 20K SPG points = 20K airline miles + 5K mile bonus.
New conversion is 60K Marriott points = 20K airline miles + 5K mile bonus.

(You will see 15K Marriott points deposited/withdrawn from your account before it is then transferred to the airline as 5K miles.)

As myperks says "No change".

But there is a change. SPG points only transfer to Marriott points at 2:1 instead of 3:1, so that's a large automatic devaluation.

It is good at least to know that the mile bonus is there, but unless I am mistaken, it is still less than a $1 spent on SPG to 1 airline mile gained, even with the bonus.

I think what I'll do is just shift spend to my Delta, United, and American Airlines branded cards for a few months at a time, to bulk up those point accounts.

Your post was misleading and has nothing to do with airline mile conversion. If you are concerned about credit card changes (that were announced in Apr 2018), this should probably be in a different thread, like one of the credit card threads.

Well...I initiated a transfer to my Skypass account on 2/14 and still waiting. I have 2 F class seats on hold that will get cancelled on 3/17 if the miles don't post by then. If they are saying 6 weeks, then fine (although in today's day of technology thats quite absurd and merger is fully complete too so not a valid excuse anymore) but I'm also planning a bunch of other flights and hotels around this KE award. Reached out to both KE and marriott and KE said they know nothing and that I have to call Marriott and Marriott hid behind the 6 week window. I will book these other flights around, but if my miles actually arrive any later than 4-5 weeks, my award gets cancelled, and all other F class awards for the day are gone, this will be bad since I wanted to treat dad to KE F on my remaining KE miles + transferred points before they expire at the end of this year. Beyond this, I don't plan on transferring Marriott points to KE anymore since I only otherwise fly Star alliance. So this is kind of like a "last dance" with KE F. Is there anything else I can do besides waiting at this point? I've been checking my SkyPass roughly twice a day in anticipation of the transfer and nothing has arrived yet.

Good luck! I can tell you from lurking this forum and the rest of the internet, you will not be able to get anywhere before the 6 week threshold. It is admittedly what they state so tough to get too mad, but agree it makes no sense given the modern world we live in. All that said, your points still may show up at any point, but you just cannot get any details of that from Marriott.

I am encroaching on 7 weeks with a 1/4 transfer to Air France. Marriott opened a case for me last week to try and locate the missing 240k points, but do not have any firm timeline on when it will be resolved. Flying Blue is also working on it for me, but they do not see the points at all so doubt there is much they can do.

Amazingly, my flights are still available. Hoping these points show up magically soon and I can still book this trip.

You need to check your calendar again! Feb 7 is not a Wednesday and Feb 20 is not a Tuesday.

If I go by your original post, I'm going to assume that you made the request on Tuesday Feb 11, and miles were received on Wed Feb 20.

Anyhow, it sounds like AS has given us another DP of depositing the miles on a Wednesday again.

I'm really sorry about that. 240K missing and 7 weeks in....I hope you weren't waiting on a promo award because that would suck and more importantly, I hope your miles show up within the next day. You've waited long enough.

Over the years, I've transferred from SPG to various airlines; the average time was only a few days. I've been waiting for one week now for Marriott/Bonvoy to reach United Air and will lose my award-held ticket today as a result of the miles not posting. United is no help, nor is Marriott. They are both told to say we have to allow for six weeks, although Marriott said from experience it shouldn't take more than 3-5 days. I fear my miles are lost in space, and there is nobody who can say where they are or why it should take six weeks. Nor do they know if a specific day of the week is when miles get transferred and/or posted. Very annoying in this day and age of electronics. The miles are deducted from the Marriott account instantly, so why should it take six weeks to post? All but one of the transfer times I've looked at on this forum have indicated 1-4 days, but none are from 2019. Any ideas for me other than to keep re-booking the award ticket for $17 per week until my points are found? Has anyone else experienced this delay between these two programs? Thank you!
