why did LH suddenly not allow Marriott transfer? That would be a breach of contract, wouldn’t it?

Initiated transfer to LH on May 28 (not knowing about this supposed "block").

Still no points on either side. You have got to be kidding. The entire reason I bought some points on the recent Marriott points sale was explicitly for this transfer.

I also now see the comment on VFTW about LH transfers (https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea...ards/#comments)

Am I naive to believe that LH would've been removed from the transfer partner list if there was an actual dispute or halting of the agreement? Because it's still listed as an option.

Exclamation Lufthansa not accepting Bonvoy transfers?

I initiated a transfer of point to Lufthansa miles on 5/28. Now that's it's been 8 days, I began to worry and did some searching. In the past, my transfers posted relatively quickly. A commenter on VFTW has said that Lufthansa is not accepting transfers as of 5/24. Lufthansa is still listed as a partner on the Bonvoy site and also available to make transfers to. I'm wondering what is fact or fiction here, because my points seem to be in limbo.

I recognize that there's a thread about post-merger points transfers, but this would be a bit more significant than just a "timing issue".

You should call customer service and have them open a case to follow up.

Have you read the contract?

Are you naive enough to believe LH is not the main culprit here? LH is the one who blocked the transfer, and why would they just do so without any warning?

There might should be a separate thread on this after all.
Per this article: Lufthansa says that as of May 24th 2019 they no longer are accepting Marriott or Hyatt points for transfers to Lufthansa miles

https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea...go-into-limbo/

I was actually just contemplating a transfer

Maybe the Lurkers will come and give an explanation. Likely the only CS one will see from Marriott on this issue.

Heaven help the non-FT participants w/this company...

Some speculation out there that this is due to a lawsuit in Germany demanding that one be able to cash miles in for $ as miles are "e-money", at least that's what I was able to gather from the google translate of https://www.handelsblatt.com/finanze...AOc69qHSp5-ap3 . could be just coincidence and a system issue thats occurring at the same time as this but also could be pretty bad if they succeed.

[Confirmed] Suspension of Marriott Bonvoy points transfers to Miles & More

Received the following from Marriott:

“We have had to suspend Lufthansa Miles & More as a Marriott Bonvoy points to miles transfer partner at the request of Lufthansa Miles & More in connection with its compliance with certain German banking regulations.

The compliance issues with the German regulations raised by Lufthansa Miles & More are not specific to the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Points to miles transfers from member accounts were made through May 20, 2019 and any transfers occurring after that date will be returned to the member’s account.”

Anyone know what the background to this is and whether likely to be permanent or temporary? Thanks.

Moderators: I have also posted this under Miles & More, as was not sure where was more appropriate, so please feel free to delete one of the posts as required. Thanks.

Initiated transfer to JAL on 6/4, finally received the "transfer request received" e-mail today 6/6. I guess I'll be waiting at least into the weekend now. Hope my Emirates seats don't get taken...

My Bonvoy points got reinstated today without a phone call. They must be doing it automatically.

Given they mentioned banking regulations my guess is its related to the article I posted a few posts up regarding miles being "e-money" and the lawsuit M&M is facing:
