New spg.com accepts a max password of 20 characters while legacy website accepted 24 characters.
If your legacy SPG password exceeds 20 characters, you will not be able to login as the 21st character and beyond is truncated. Reset password functionality may also fail. If you see following after attempting to reset password, call SPG to obtain your new SPG# and then return to spg.com to perform a password reset.

For those that have combined starting with SPG account
Ok, one of the items I've been using to gauge their progress, is comparing actions in my accounts. On the MR side I see the option to combine on the dropdown menu from the main page. However, I need to drill down on the SPG side? I thought that my account was still being worked on since it didn't match (expecting link to combine being in the same place for both). I am in no rush and will probably hold off a bit longer just for grins. MPG LTPP is not going to happen any sooner, so no rush.

- The agent couldn't figure out how 75 nights stayed in 2017 would translate to Platinum Premier status in 2018. She kept saying but "you're already Lifetime Platinum, so you don't need to worry about your nights." Ugh.
- My upcoming 7-night award booking at a Ritz Carlton is apparently missing the rewards certificate which I applied in February. And she said I would have to call Ritz Carlton to figure it out - she can't do anything about it.
- And she didn't know how to apply SNAs to an existing reservation. WHY?
But she did share how frustrated legacy Starwood guests are with Marriott.

If you weren't already Marriott Lifetime Platinum, which converted to Lifetime Platinum Premier on 18 August, you will, assuming you meet the qualifications, become one in 2019.

I just called the Marriott Loyalty Care desk and it was most frustrating experience:

Gahhhhhhh..... After merge I had 698 nights and 10 years platinum. I frankly didn't remember how many nights I had pre-merge (I know it was in the 600 range) but once I saw I had 10 years platinum (which in itself seems like an error, I only had 9 years pre-combination), I thought I could book 50 nights and get to LTPP. So, I am now 20 nights into those 50 nights. And... today my nights went from 718 to 635, but still 10-years platinum.
The whole time I was a bit worried my years total would go from 10 to 9, but had no idea my nights total was so much lower. Does anybody know if any emails from Starwood, in the past, would have lifetime night totals? I am trying to reconstruct my totals to figure out what is correct.

I'm not a lawyer but I suppose a case can be made that a member should be able to claw back those mattress run costs due to erroneous data displayed on marriott.com or the mobile app.

This is why Marriott should not be running those scripts in the background to deduct nights and years without a well thought out plan. Many users don't remember exactly how many LT nights and years they have and some are relying on the totals after 8/18 to do mattress runs to shoot for LTPP. This has an impact on members' spendings.

If this is in reference to spending towards earning an Ambassador, I'm told that the tracker does not begin showing any spend until you reach $10K in annual spend.

Well I completed the merge successfully - and it showed correctly on the browser I used to merge the accounts and on my mobile app. However, when I log back in now on the website - with my regular browser - all I see are pre-merger numbers for my Marriott account. If I log in on a fresh cookie-free Firefox - it shows the correct. Update: Deleting cookies/cache/etc worked. All good now.
Data Point: I also see spend total towards ambassador.
