Any SNA earned in one year has an expiration for Dec 31 of the next year. So anyone just earning/selecting their SNAs now since the merger should have SNAs expiring Dec 31, 2019.

Can't choose my Benefit of Choice anyone else ?

When I combined my accounts it activated the Benefit of Choice - 76 nights for the year when I click on the link to View Benefits it asks for a login again I have tried both my old accounts #s and the new one they all just keep asking for a login again.

Agreed. I'm planning to use my free night at an airport hotel for an early morning flight on Labor Day.

Otherwise, way not give SNAs to anyone with more the 50/75 nights?
What!?!? So our nights before the merger dont count? We must stay 50/75 nights after 8/18 to get Choice Benefits? That sounds crazy 🤨
JLSocks and OssianBlue like this.

No, what was said that you must cross 50 or 75 nights to get the SNAs. So if you have over 50 nights now, then only when you cross 75 would you earn 5 SNAs. Nothing says the benefit is retroactive.

Nothing says it is not and there's absolutely no reason to give any credence whatsoever to whatever scrap of text you are referring to that was put out by the Lurkers months ago. Particularly when the outcome would be completely irrational.

Edit: And one thing to remember--the reward levels are completely new things as of 8/18. We ALL crossed from 0 to however many nights we have once the transition occurred.

All remains to be seen. The Lurkers have been on the mark a lot more than the Marriott Concierges, not to mention much more responsive.

Not sure the significance of the edit.

So I have 48 Marriott nights prior to 8/18 and 6 SPG nights prior. Total now is 54. Are the above posts now saying I have to stay two more nights at Marriott to get 5 SNAs as mu choice benefit?

That's what I would do IF I haven't combined my accounts (maybe doesn't even need to be MR properties, just booked via MR account), then there is no question. Then you can combine to get closer to 75 nights for another 5 SNAs.

I don't know the answer obviously, but similarly - it seems bizarre that someone would be punished for having stayed more nights in the previous programs separately before combining. For example: 49 nights in Marriott, 0 in SPG -> benefit upon next stay after combining accounts. 49 nights in Marriott, 1 in SPG = 50 nights -> no benefit at all for 50 nights after combining and needing to wait to 75 nights.

Early August the below is what showed if one tried to get their 50 night benefit. Don’t think threshold needed to be done after merger and I am firm believer that over 50 combined will get it. Except those who had over 50 in spg before merger.

Coming soon

MEMBERS WITH AT LEAST 50 ELIGIBLE NIGHTS CAN CHOOSE THEIR BENEFIT.

We'll unveil our Annual Choice Benefits and invite eligible members to select the new benefit that suits them best.

We'll send eligible members all the details as soon as the new options are available. In the meantime, keep booking and staying.

There were cautions all along about rushing to combine. NO ONE had any idea what was going to happen, just speculation (as is my view). And, I read that we would be notified when we could combine our accounts. I haven't seen anything saying it was ok. People are blindly clicking links without any regard for what would happen and surprised it didn't work. Running red lights may be safe, but let ONE CAR come along and bang, not so safe.
