She got an email confirming the 5 Elite Night credits.

However, she has not received an email about selecting the 75 night award, and her account now shows 5 more SNAs that expire on December 31, 2022. It looks like Marriott did the default of giving her more SNAs on January 7 if you dont pick, even though she did pick and got the email confirming it.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do they just default everyone and then go back to look and fix it? My plan is to give them a couple more days and then call if it doesnt change.
Any update on this?

This is another case where I would be interested to see what the selection history says

The link for selecting your benefit:
https://choice-benefit.marriott.com/

Can't remember whether/what you picked for your previous benefits? Click on "SEE YOUR PAST SELECTIONS >" on the above page, or direct link:

this should immediately clear up whether Marriott issued OP's wife 5 nights @50 and defaulted to SNAs @75, or merely SNAs @50.

I know as a Titanium Elite you would expect to be upgraded anyway on check-in, but they are still useful. I had 5 suite nights awarded last year (missed the 75 nights by 6) and redeemed them all during a 5-day stay at the Warsaw Marriott for the luxury suite upgrade. Huge rooms (839 square feet total), really like a living room with dining room adjunct which had a huge table we both could use for our computers with room to spare. Well worth it!

Posted room rate was ~$500 per night compared with the senior rate for a regular room of about $100 per night.

SNAs @ 50 would mean that the OP has 10 SNAs, as the default SNAs at 50/75 have been deposited already...

Two new threads relating to benefits selection were merged into the master thread and ended up interleaved. The message you are replying to here is from the chain beginning with kar120c's post in what is now reply #1610.

I recently noticed my free night award for 75 nights choice - expires randomly on 12/2/2022. Shouldn't it be until 12/31/22? I also chose it after the NY so I thought it'd even be 2023. Quite weird. Anyone else seeing this?

When did you hit 75? Mine expire Dec 31 a year after I hit the 75.

Hmm, you're suggesting the free night is valid for one year from when we hit 75? What if someone hits 75 in June and then doesn't choose benefit/choice until Dec? You're saying Marriott only gives 6 months in that case? Why then would they give us so long (Jan 8 of following year) to make a choice? Because really if what you're saying is true, we're better off making an immediate choice since clock starts ticking.

The CB free night always expires Dec 31 -- something is off with yours. I assume you've double checked that you aren't confusing it with a credit card free night award, which can indeed expire at various points throughout the year? If that's not it, then could be worth contacting Marriott if the 12/2 vs 12/31 difference will matter for you. Unfortunately I wouldn't expect you'll be able to get a 12/31/2023 extension since it's only by unintended IT glitch that others have gotten their certs to last so long.

Aha, that's interesting. I do (did) have both. A free credit card night and a free choice night. I used one... but don't really know which was which as they are both 35,000 level. I'm pretty darn sure though that I used the credit card one first... and then made my 75 choice and received the other. But perhaps not.

The choice benefit FNC is a 40K point cert while the CC certs are 35K (or 25K or 50K depending on card). So if you only see a 35K cert then that is a credit card cert.

Well then it's definitely the cc cert. Which means that I actually had two certs avail at the same time. I used one for a 35k night, yet the system pulled the 40k one to use automatically. Or perhaps I did it, by accident.

Has the stay where you used the new cert already happened? If it's still a future stay you should be able to cancel and rebook with the less valuable cert, although certs don't always return to your account correctly after canceling a stay so you may end up needing to get customer service involved. Even if it was in the past it could be worth seeing if customer service can swap them out retroactively (especially if you happen to be an Ambassador member; if you're not, whether it is worth dealing with Marriott general customer service staff for 5k points is not an entirely clear).

I wouldn't put anything past Marriott IT but I do feel like I've found the website is pretty good about picking the lowest-value, soonest-expiring applicable cert when I make bookings, so I guess also worth double-checking (which might be an easier customer service ask) whether the night where it was used was in fact 35K points and wasn't 40K points?

The stay already happened. I booked the stay before I made my annual choice so it seems to me the only cert I had was the cc 35k cert. And yet, the 40k choice cert is gone and remaining is the 35k cert. Whether that's worthy of me dealing with regular CS reps, I can't say. At the moment, I'm not inclined to bother.

Marriott Titanium Elite Gift for 75 nights

Please advise on best course of action to resolve dispute on assignment of gift after 75 nights. Here is the situation. My stay on the night of 12/31/21 gave me my 75th night. I started to check to see when I could select my gift within a couple of days but there was nothing showing to allow for the selection. I called on 1/8/22 and the representative said it would take at least 10 business days to recognize my 12/31 stay and allow me to select my gift. I then went on line on 1/20/22 looking to see if my option to select my gift was available. I noticed that they had automatically given me the suite upgrade reward which I did not want as I already had one there. I called and they submitted a ticket. I am being told that I needed to select my gift by 1/7/22. I explained that was not possible as it did not register yet and when I called I was told to wait. I have asked them how I was supposed to select my gift but they just give a standard response of to bad we are not making exceptions. Where do I go from here to have someone with common sense look further into this? Thanks!!
