Starwood "Suite Temptations"
Hi,
I am interested in reserving a room using the "Suite Temptation" promotion at spgdeals. The deal says, "Enjoy 10% off suites and 3,000 bonus Starpoints on stays through December 31, 2018." I have two questions:
First, when you click on the deal to "learn more," it takes you to a password protected page (sorry, I would link to it but I am still a newb on this site and I am restricted from inluding URLs). My regular Starwood login is not working for this. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a promotion code that I can use at booking instead of routing through this page?
Second, does anyone know how the 3,000 bonus points will be handled for stays on/after August 1? Will they credit as 9,000 Marriott points?

My guess would be that it's broken. None of the other deals require login to just see the details, and even when I'm logged in to spg it prompts for id/pwd.
Being risk-averse/security conscious , I didn't try my SPG id/pwd.

Thanks, @CPRich. Hopefully they have it up and running soon. To clarify, I guess what I meant by the second question was how this promo would be handled after the merge. It's confusing because on the one hand, it says the Starwood promo is good through the end of the year; but on the other hand, reservations will be handled through Marriott come August 1. Will Marriott run the same deal on its site?

It is pretty much a moot point at this time since that was pulled about a week ago. You would be hard pressed to find any hotels that have access to that promo now. Perhaps it will be put back once the combination happens next month, but I would not be surprised it if disappears.

IME these generally weren't good deals as I could find lower rates (such as AAA) for the same suite categories, so that it would have meant paying a lot of money for the 3,000 points.

Yeah.. I was exploring spg.com looking for promos and came across this pw linked page when trying to get more info on the promo. Bummer it was pulled. Also noticed that a nice promo that the W in Santiago Chile got pulled as well. Think it was offering an additional 3000 points for each night stayed... Damn!!

Promotion? 3,000 SPG points for booking a Suite
SPG used to have a "Suite Temptations" promotion (it was supposed to go to December 31, 2018) whereby you could book a Suite in participating hotels and receive 3,000 bonus SPG points. The promo code was "STE1PT." Since the merger, it does not appear to be available on either SPG or Marriott sites.

We looked into this and have to inform you that globally, this promotion is not active anymore. It ended on 30 June, 2018.
