I'm curious if anyone has a recent experience at the SF Marriott Marquis to share. I'm booking a stay downtown a few weeks out, and the hotel's price is enough lower than the competition that I'm willing to cross the picket line -- but not if the exec lounge is closed for lack of staff or there's noisy protest in the streets at 6am on the weekend.

The driveway that the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Sheraton Waikiki are on is private and because it's private property, protesters can be asked to leave or escorted off of that property.

Are beaches in Hawaii considered to be public or private?

The Waikiki beach is public and the protesters do use their megaphones on it!

Except for a small number of beaches owned by the Federal government, all beaches in Hawaii are public.

Any recent experiences at Sheraton Waikiki? I'm booked for next weekend, and my cancel deadline is Tuesday.

Mine is 3 weeks old, but lounge was open. Hotel bar and stuff was on limited hours. Housekeeping was slow, so definitely app check in ahead so your room is ready.

it was fine overall other than having to cross the picket line - although given it was Oracle world week, it was grab what you could or sleep on the street.
