2. New Combined Program - 750 [MR+SPG] nights & 10 years combined/total as Platinum members previously under MR and/or SPG as of 12/31/2018 - not available after 1/1/2019
From members.marriott.com:
NOTE: Members that reach 750 nights and 10 years at Platinum by December 31, 2018 will be grandfathered into Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite status (notified January 2019).
FAQ from members.marriott.com
Q: CAN I EARN LIFETIME STATUS UNDER THE LEGACY REQUIREMENTS (ACTIVE PRIOR TO AUGUST 2018) FOR LIFETIME ELITE STATUS IN MARRIOTT REWARDS, RITZ-CARLTON REWARDS OR SPG? IF SO, WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED OF MY LIFETIME ELITE STATUS?
A: Yes, in addition to earning based on the new criteria, members can earn Lifetime Elite Status under the legacy requirements through the end of 2018. If Lifetime status is achieved by legacy requirements, between August and December 31, 2018 you will receive notice of your updated Lifetime Elite status in January 2019. If Lifetime status is achieved based on the new criteria, you will be notified both in August 2018 as well as any time it is achieved through the end of the year.
Example: An SPG member has 300 Lifetime nights, 4 years of Gold Elite Status, and 1 year of Platinum Elite Status after August, 2018. Under the SPG legacy Lifetime requirements, this member would earn Lifetime Gold Elite status which would reflect in their account January 2019.
Q: IF I WILL NOT BE GRANDFATHERED INTO LIFETIME PLATINUM PREMIER ELITE, WILL I HAVE THE ABILITY TO EARN INTO THIS LEVEL IN 2018?
A: Yes, members can earn Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite in 2018 if they achieve 750 Lifetime nights and 10 years at Platinum Elite status. This requirement is only for 2018 and will not be continued in future years. Members will receive notice of this Lifetime achievement in January 2019.

Thank you for your help.
I guess I will be combining both accounts shortly before the end of the month. Coz at the moment I am still waiting for some corrections (missing or incorrectly reported stays) on my SPG account. Once this has been rectified I think will do the combine procedure.

Hi all,
Was definitely a Lifetime Platinum member with SPG (had achieved it two years ago); now my Marriott account says Platinum Elite on the site when I log in.
Should it say "Lifetime Platinum" or something?
Also, are there Marriott Platinum contact numbers like SPG had?
If so, can anyone either post them or DM me?
Thanks for any assistance.
Cheers,
Singlepoint

I use to see PLAT PR for life until a few weeks ago, when I made ambassador it now shows plat for life. Unsure why, but I was formerly a SPG lifetime Plat.

My sense of how this works is that lifetime status isn't matched, but if your lifetime status is highest, it's matched as an annual status to the other program (although that would really follow as a result of matching annual status from one program to the other). For example, I'm LTPP on MR (from legacy MR LTP long before August 18th) but only LTP (from legacy SPG LTP, also long before August 18th) on Starwood. This part of my status has been showing pretty consistently since not long after August 18th, even though my annual status on the two accounts is still messed up most of the time (although there were days when it was correct).

This is all supposed to be reconciled the beginning of this year but I don't see it yet on my account. Has anybody from the SPG side received their LTPP status yet? Thanks.

Sometime in January....not at the beginning of the year. If February 1 rolls around and I'm not LTPP (or whatever it is called then), I'll worry about it.

Similar situation here.
933 nights, 13 years as Plat.
Hit 50 nights for 2018 on Dec 31, so logged in to see if my SNA's had appeared (nadda yet). Went to check if I was finally being correctly shown at LTPP (as oppposed to LTP) - but nope. On the Overview tab, I am now just "Platinum Elite" (still no Premier recognition). However, a few lines of text below that, it does say "You are Lifetime Platinum Elite".
So someone what of a tiny conflict that I can live with - but just keen to get my Premier recognition now, having waited most of last year for it (for no good reason).

The LTPP sweep is supposed to occur in January (we'll see) not January 1st. In the meantime, 50 nights makes you a Plat, not PP.

So I made Platinum Premier Elite in 2018, and also qualified for LTPP as well towards the end of December with 750 nights and 17 years platinum... Curious if there would be any differentiation or priority for LTPP. over regular platinum premier elite in the system....

There's speculation that this will happen but we don't know.
Starriott has announced that only PP and AMB are eligible for suite upgrades at RCs.
