FAQ from members.marriott.com
Q: CAN I EARN LIFETIME STATUS UNDER THE LEGACY REQUIREMENTS (ACTIVE PRIOR TO AUGUST 2018) FOR LIFETIME ELITE STATUS IN MARRIOTT REWARDS, RITZ-CARLTON REWARDS OR SPG? IF SO, WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED OF MY LIFETIME ELITE STATUS?
A: Yes, in addition to earning based on the new criteria, members can earn Lifetime Elite Status under the legacy requirements through the end of 2018. If Lifetime status is achieved by legacy requirements, between August and December 31, 2018 you will receive notice of your updated Lifetime Elite status in January 2019. If Lifetime status is achieved based on the new criteria, you will be notified both in August 2018 as well as any time it is achieved through the end of the year.
Example: An SPG member has 300 Lifetime nights, 4 years of Gold Elite Status, and 1 year of Platinum Elite Status after August, 2018. Under the SPG legacy Lifetime requirements, this member would earn Lifetime Gold Elite status which would reflect in their account January 2019.
Q: IF I WILL NOT BE GRANDFATHERED INTO LIFETIME PLATINUM PREMIER ELITE, WILL I HAVE THE ABILITY TO EARN INTO THIS LEVEL IN 2018?
A: Yes, members can earn Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite in 2018 if they achieve 750 Lifetime nights and 10 years at Platinum Elite status. This requirement is only for 2018 and will not be continued in future years. Members will receive notice of this Lifetime achievement in January 2019.

Technically correct, all SPG accounts are now BONVoY accounts converted from SPG.com to MR.com. Given there are many reasons to not combine your previous MR and SPG accounts, it is against the rules having more than one account. Heaven help Marriott if they ever choose to enforce that rule and summarily delete one or the other (any guess which one will be targeted?). I personally chose to combine my old MR data into my new account showing support for the former SPG. I know it doesn't mean diddly, but I felt better when I conquered the issues I had getting it done (it kept defaulting to moving SPG to MR).

A couple of reasons you may not have gotten a response if you sent a message to that email address:
1) Your message was sent to multiple email addresses and the email was closed in favor of the best team responding instead of us.
2) You sent a message already handled by another team who has kept case ownership.
There may be other reasons that don't come to mind at the moment.

Not sure, I only have the Marriott account now. No more SPG. Still only lifetime Platinum instead of lifetime Titanium, even though I made my 10th Platinum year last year. I can't get anyone at Marriott who can explain it to me in a way I can understand as to why I'm not lifetime Titanium.

I have been cheated out of a year of platinum -- earned 2 last year, one under each program's old standards -- and it has never updated.
I've asked 5x. I get generally just ignored.
Is that it then? I should just give up? Quit Marriott?

It seems like (2) might be the reason I'm being blown off then.

We would like to help look into the status of the issue, if you would provide your account details to us via private mail here or by email below.

This was a nice surprise! I rarely stay at Marriotts... noticed that I was Titanium Elite and couldn't figure out why. Thank you, FT, for clearing up all of life's mysteries.
Edit: does this mean I'm a LTTE?!

Received my lifetime Titanium card in the mail this week. First off, I was qualified for this before any merger completed, but just receive the card this week. Interestingly it's a metal card that weighs 1oz and hit the ground with a clank. I guess when they mean lifetime, they want to make sure you never need a new card.
I'm currently at the Ambassador status, so it was interesting seeing this show up. Especially since I was lifetime Plat at Marriott and they never sent me a card for that.
