Another thought for you, is how much value will you gain from being Ambassador? I think the biggest benefit is the 24 hour check in/check out feature.
Actually the biggest benefit is not having to waste your time on hold over the telephone and having someone deal with Marriott's issues ASAP.

Can't imagine what the Plats and Plat Premieres have to go through with stays not posting or incorrect points, etc. etc.

It is like Marriott is saying if you want to have good customer service, then you gotta cough up 20K/year + 100 nights. Otherwise, buy lots of tylenol dealing with regular customer service.

Ahhh, if only that was true for everyone. Reading this thread it is totally dependent upon which ambassador you get assigned. Some of them appear to be worse than regular CSRs and some are great. Spin the wheel and see what you end up with.

In terms of getting missing stays to post I don't think it matters what Ambassador is assigned to you. I just emailed the generic ambassador.service address and they usually gets it sorted out within the day. Versus filling up the missing stay form and never hearing back.

I feel the same way — I'm at 100 SPG nights and 80 Hyatt this year. Hyatt has treated me far far better, and the concierge I get assigned as a Globalist is not too different from an SPG Ambassador.

That may be challenging, depending on the Ambassador. Starwood allowed Ambassadors to work out of their homes. If that's the case with your Ambassador, I don't see you getting the address without the Ambassador's approval.

The call was a complete waste of time. The language barrier was so great that the agent continued to ask what I needed after I expressed it at least eight times, and I, too, really could not understand much of what she was trying to say, except that I finally was able to make out that she said that she could not understand me due to her lack of proficiency in English.
I don't see any mention of your location. When I was at Ambassador level, my Ambassador was in the U.S.; but I was in SEAsia most of the time. When I needed help during Asia daytime, I called the Singapore Ambassador center. Both English and service were excellent.

We have a Lurker there too, so he might be able to facilitate options if someone wants to contact Ambassadors there or to be assigned an Ambassador based there.

For some of us, it would help to have general Ambassador team contact information for various countries. OTOH, I've never understood why Starriott hasn't sent the general team number and general email contact info to those of us who recently qualified for Ambassador service and were waiting for assignment to a particular Ambassador.

Made ambassador about 4 weeks ago. Status changed online and everything. Haven't heard a peep out of anybody. Not a big deal as I only have one more stay this year, but kinda disappointing.

I recommend reaching out via email to the general Ambassador program and asking for a manager to contact you ASAP about assignment of your Ambassador. Sometimes, it’s more than appropriate to take the reins rather than waiting for someone to contact you.

He will have standard reply 'wait' ... answer from 7.Dec, bhrubin I have limits how much I can ask and push them.

'Hello Mr. HHQX,
Thank you for your correspondence in reply,
As a note, thank you for letting us know of the competitive opportunity to provide the best experience & customer service in our industry. We will work to establish your trust again with every correspondence and warm welcome we are given.
I have contacted our specialist as needed based on your achievement level in May of this year. Again, may I ask that you allow our specialists the next two business days to ensure your ambassador is assigned & documented for our coordination as well as yours? As a note, regionally we will work together to assist with your status for 2019. We look forward to helping you achieve another 100 nights so we can continue to work together, please let me know how I can offer you any help with your next stay this year, or next.
Again, I appreciate your message, and value your loyalty as a member of the Marriott ambassador family. We look forward to welcoming you with joy again,

Warm regards,'

Got my ambassador email about 5 weeks back, many nights/check-in's since then, nothing, no upgrades, no nothing. I did learn that I am the highest possible level in the system, an 'X5' member. WOW, cool story bro.

Dear Mr. Special
I hope that this email finds you well.
Congratulations on reaching Marriott’s highest level of loyalty, Platinum Premier Elite with ambassador. My name is 'we will never speak' and I am reaching out to you to introduce myself as your personal ambassador.
blah blah blah...rinse, repeat..

New data point: I never got the promised 60K points refunded for my canceled 2nd room at StR Bal Harbour stay from Nov (after the hotel upgraded me to Royal Suite with 2 bedrooms). Reminded Ambassador yesterday (indicating I would let it go if too complicated, since I’ve made out so well otherwise). Today, she emailed apology for the delay and that 60K points posted to my account.

Account shows 60K posted. Pretty darn good.
