NO, MR legacy LTP (which automatically became LTPP in the new combined program on August 18th) is 750 nights and 2,000,000 lifetime points. There was never a years of elite status requirement before the merger, although farther back (when the points requirement was higher too) twelve years of MR membership in the program (at any level) were required.

The general ambassador line has been excellent for me so far, might try that instead of your assigned ambassador.

Contacted the Ambassador and told them to remove me from the program. Surprisingly, this is the 1st time they did not ask if they could book a room for me.

So, the end of this is that OP did not want to participate in a program. He apparently contacted Marriott several times and was each time referred to the program. He finally called the program and was removed. Not so hard.

Still, it's sad that Starriott didn't care that one of its best customers wants no part of their highly publicized "best" customer service personnel. One would have hoped that a Starriott executive would have wanted to ask the OP about his/her experiences with Ambassador service and why it wan't acceptable.

That's not a legacy SPG Ambassador location, is it? Were the experimental legacy MR concierges/ambassadors based here?

Kansas is a legacy SPG ambassador location.

The legacy Marriott ambassadors were in Omaha or SLC.

I feel the OP's pain. My ambassador is absolutely worthless. IF she responds to me communications (and that's a big if) she has taken up to seven (7) days to respond. Given the sh@tshow that is Marriott.com right now I was hoping that my Ambassador could help me navigate this. No such luck. She hasn't been able to help with award nights. She hasn't been able to help with specific pre-arrival needs. She's been absolutely worthless.

Personally, I find it insulting that Marriott offers this benefit and then allows it to add absolutely not value. As a result of the Ambassador's poor service I have actually routed business away from Marriott and to Hilton.

its only been a little over 2 weeks so far but my experience with my ambassador has been positive....this is the same ambassador i had in 2017 & the experience then was very average....this time around she has been more active & has been constantly reaching out to the properties where i am staying....i think she had just joined spg when she was assigned to me earlier & was struggling a bit....now she seems to know her way around the program.....hopefully this will be a much better experience....

I have done likewise, I have status matched at Hilton and staying at Hilton and Doubletrees at the moment and been quite impressed.

My ambassador is utterly useless and never around, I have someone else filling in for him most of the time and they haven't got a clue.

I recently had three events where they could have done something nice (My bday, My sons first bday and my wedding anniversary) and my ambassador didnt even send an email about it despite me requesting for them to communicate to the hotel prior to our arrivals before my sons bday and the wedding anniversary (both properties however did do something as I reached out to them myself (Al Bustan Palace and St Regis Doha both were excellent)) but they had received/heard nothing from my ambassador).

My experience do not bother with the ambassador program and end your SPG/Marriott nights at 75 and try to get loyalty elsewhere.

We would like to help forward your feedback in regard to the Ambassador service to the Ambassador management team, if you could provide your account details to us via private mail here or by email below.
