Huge thanks to Horace for this list (which is much simpler to understand than Marriott's T&Cs!)

Daily Breakfast for Platinum Elite and Above

Six categories:

1. Breakfast for member + 1 in the lounge. If the hotel does not have a lounge or the lounge is closed, member can choose 750 points OR continental breakfast for member + 1 in the restaurant. A limited number of hotels provide 1,000 points each day the lounge is closed instead of a choice (Through June 30, 2024). Any of these benefits are in addition to the Platinum Elite welcome gift.

— Autograph Collection (excluding resorts)
— Courtyard (properties with a lounge only; Asia, Australia, Pacific Islands, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa only)
— Delta* (excluding resorts)
— JW Marriott (excluding resorts)
— Marriott (excluding resorts)
— Renaissance (excluding resorts)
* many Delta properties provide breakfast from an Elite Pantry as an alternative to a Signature Lounge, in which case the hotel does not need to provide breakfast for member + 1 the restaurant.

2. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant for member + 1 as a Platinum Elite welcome gift option (not in addition to it).

— Aloft
— Autograph Collection (resorts only)
— Delta (resorts only)
— Four Points
— The Luxury Collection
— JW Marriott (resorts only)
— Le Méridien
— Marriott (resorts only)
— Protea
— Renaissance (resorts only)
— St. Regis
— Sheraton **
— Tribute Portfolio
— W Hotels
— Westin **
** Marriott Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, and Westin Vacation Club properties are not Marriott, Sheraton, and Westin hotels/resorts.

3. Breakfast in lounge for member + 1, if the hotel has a lounge. This is in addition to the Platinum Elite welcome gift, which could be breakfast for member + 1 in the restaurant. No alternative benefit if the lounge is closed.

— Le Méridien (only at locations with a lounge)
— Sheraton (only at locations with a lounge)
— Westin (only at locations with a lounge)

4. Daily U.S. $10 F&B credit for member + 1 as a Platinum Elite welcome gift option (not in addition to it). Can be applied toward breakfast or toward other F&B purchase in the hotel restaurant or bar. Does not accrue over multiple-night stay.

— AC Hotels
— Courtyard (locations without a lounge only, which means most locations)
— MOXY ***
*** some MOXY property are more generous, providing full breakfasts to those who apply their F&B credits toward breakfast, with no additional charge

5. Breakfast for all guests included in room rate, regardless of status or membership

— Element ****
— Fairfield (except Fairfield Asia Pacific hotels) ****
— Residence Inn (NO breakfast at Residence Inn New Orleans French Quarter/CBD)
— SpringHill Suites
— TownePlace Suites
**** very few exceptions; check official hotel website

6. No complimentary daily breakfast, even for Platinum Elite and Above

— Design Hotels
— Edition
— Fairfield Asia Pacific hotels
— Gaylord Hotels
— Marriott Executive Apartments
— Marriott Vacation Club / MVC Pulse / Grand Residences by Marriott
— The Ritz-Carlton / Ritz-Carlton Reserve / Ritz-Carlton Residence Club
— Vistana / Sheraton Vacation Club / Westin Vacation Club

Note: This list does not identify specific properties that deviate from the published benefits. In some cases, exceptions are identified in the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions or on specific property webpages. Exceptions are few, but can be an unpleasant or pleasant surprise, depending on whether the property provides less or more than the published benefits.Through June 30, 2024, the following properties in the United States do not provide free continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the event the Lounge is closed but do offer 1,000 Points in lieu of breakfast. These properties include:

• The Algonquin Hotel Times Square, Autograph Collection

• Boston Marriott Copley Place

• Boston Marriott Long Wharf

• Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

• JW Marriott Essex House New York City

• JW Marriott New Orleans

• JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

• JW Marriott Washington, DC

• The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection

• Monterey Marriott

• New York Marriott Marquis®

• Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

• Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel

• Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel

• Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel

• Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel

• Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel

• Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Platinum breakfast benefit

Not sure what the norm is here but if I select the breakfast benefit now usually hotels give me either a breakfast card OR a $10 f and b voucher. Some give $10 for each night and others $10 for the whole stay regardless of nights.

Whats the norm now?

The "norms" for Platinum Elite Welcome Gift choices and Platinum Elite lounge access depend on the brand.

The wiki at the top of this thread provides a quick overview.

For more details, including guarantees and exceptions, see the terms and exceptions for Marriott's loyalty program: https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi

There are cases of hotels providing less than the published benefit. In such cases, it's good to let the Lurker team know.

Stayed at the delta Toronto airport two weeks ago... 5 night stay and received ONE $10 F&B voucher...

Staying at the delta Toronto airport currently.... 2 night stay and upon checking in was handed ONE $10 F&B voucher... i said, “i should receive one for EACH night” agent said, “um yes i guess i can give you another one”

Stayed at the courtyard a few nights ago for 3 nights and received 3 x $10 F&B voucher.

i also qualified for ambassador through their legacy program (100 + nights in SPG only hotels)... still my status shows plat premier elite and NOT ambassador so i have to literally beg at the front desk to honour my 24.... not sure how much longer i put up with this marriott BS before i use my hilton diamond status and take my 100+ nights over.

This merger merry go round has done nothing but piss off their elites. I know i am not alone.

At a Delta Hotel, you should have been given a Platinum Elite Welcome Gift choice of 1000 points or one F&B credit equivalent to $10 USD, regardless of the length of stay. These are per stay, not per day.

Daily breakfast is not a Platinum Elite Welcome Gift choice at Delta, except at Delta Resorts.

However, Delta Hotels give you something better! In addition to the Welcome Gift choice, you also get the lounge/breakfast benefit for member + 1. That benefit is for every day of your stay.

The same is true for Marriott, Renaissance, JW Marriott, and Autograph Collection.

Courtyard does not have a true breakfast benefit. As a Welcome Gift, you can choose a F&B credit equivalent to $10 USD daily for member + 1. The same is true at AC Hotels and MOXY.

Again, I urge you to look at the Wiki at the top of this thread — and at the terms & conditions for the details.

My apologies. It will depends on what brand of the hotel you stay at.

For JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Delta Hotels, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels in United States, Canada, Europe, the U.S. $10 food and beverage ("F&B") credit is per Stay.
For Gaylord Hotels, the U.S. $10 F&B credit is per Stay.
For Courtyard, AC Hotels, Moxy Hotels, the $10 F&B credit is per day for Member + 1.

Is it $10 per person (so $20 for member plus one) per day or $10 per room per day?

The Platinum Welcome Gift chart in Marriott's Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions has a double-asterisk in the cell for Courtyard (also for AC Hotels and MOXY). Here's what the corresponding footnote explains:

** The U.S. $10 F&B credit per day is for the Member. An additional U.S. $10 F&B credit per day is given for one (1) guest staying in the same guestroom as the Member.

In other words, there's a second voucher daily only if there's a second guest staying in the room. But if there's a third guest, there's not a third voucher.

So basically, the brands where one would be more likely to stay on vacation multiple nights are one per stay and the brands where one would be more likely to spend one night before a flight out or on the way to somewhere else are one per day.

I would not characterize it that way.

Most (but not all) full-service brands — "where one would be more likely to stay on vacation multiple nights" — offer much better Platinum Elite benefits than Courtyard, AC Hotels, and MOXY.

At five Marriott-legacy full-service brands, you get not only the Platinum Welcome Gift, but also daily breakfast for two in the lounge (or in the restaurant if there is no lounge or it's closed). The rules are different for resorts of these brands.

At most Starwood-legacy full-service brands (and at resorts of five Marriott legacy full-service brands), one of your Platinum Welcome Gift options is breakfast in the restaurant for member + 1. And if the hotel has a lounge (at three Starwood-Legacy brands), you also get lounge access.

On vacation, we would enjoy the benefits above much more than merely "U.S. $10 F&B credit is per day for Member +1" at a the three Marriott-legacy select-service brands.

Take a look at the Wiki at the top of this thread.

Benefits involving breakfast and F&B credits are provided through two different parts of the loyalty program (soon to become Marriott Bonvoy).

To get all the details, exceptions, and geographic nuances, take a look at the terms & conditions. Look at the Platinum Welcome Gift chart and the details related to it. Also look at the Platinum Lounge Access chart and the details related to it.

You're right. That does seem much better. Also seems overly complicated, but I assume that is a result of different agreements with different brands and the merger. I guess it really doesn't concern me much anyway since I am not platinum.

So............a guy/gal is staying at a Renaissance hotel for 6 nights and you get $10 bucks for the whole stay!? I am going to really enjoy that glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Might as well just slap me when I check-in for the benefit.

At a Renaissance, Platinum gets lounge access or breakfast in the restaurant if there is no lounge. The $10 is the welcome amenity. It's in addition to breakfast.
