Lima, Peru recommendations

I am staying in Lima for 3 nights before heading to Cusco where I would be staying at TDI for which I got a great BRG rate at $200 per night before taxes.

I am getting to Lima at 10 30 PM and spending a wbole day to visit Nazca lines for which I am booking a private tour with Nazcaflights.

For Lima hotel I need some recommendations as I would be spending only 1 good day I dont want to spend too much money.

I am plat at both Marriott and SPG . Sheraton has a great C&P rate of 2000 + $35. JW has a total rate of $770 for 3 nights which I really dont want to spend because of the actual time spent at hotel.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Our itinerary included just one full day in Lima and we found the Courtyard to be the best choice - great location, great service, good price.

We stayed at the Courtyard Limaflores for 3 nights before Cusco/MP and one night on the way back. It was conveniently located in a safe area with food options and a grocery store nearby. A bit far from the airport, but I'd stay there again.

We used taxidatum to get all around town, to/from airport, in Lima and Cusco - highly recommended.

I originally booked the Sheraton on the return, as it's a bit closer to the airport, but changed plans after the initial stay and seeing where the Sheraton was.

I have stayed at the FP Miraflores and the Sheraton. While Miraflores is a much more pleasant place to stay, many of the historical sights of Lima are downtown, where the Sheraton is located. We got a walking tour of downtown for one morning, and in the evening went to see the nearby water fountains which is a nice local family experience. The main thing the area around the Sheraton is lacking are good restaurants, but if you take taxis for dinner you won't suffer with traffic as much. The Sheraton had a great breakfast (comped for Plats), but rooms were dated, although it's a great deal on points, and nearer the airport, as stated.

Sheraton is much better situated if you have any intent of sightseeing around the Cathedral, Governor's Mansion etc. I stayed at the 4Points Miraflores and enjoyed my time there; Miraflores is a pleasant and safe area to wander around. But getting from there to the historical area took a very long taxi ride.

There have been complaints that the neighbourhood around the Sheraton leaves much to be desired. I can understand that perspective - Miraflores is certainly nicer. But I personally didn't feel the area around the Sheraton was unsafe or anything. If I stay in Lima again, I'll likely stay at the Sheraton.

Sheraton is certainly closer to the historic heart of the city, but a $7 (iirc) cab ride for 4 was a fine trade-off for us for the shopping, food, safety, etc., around MF. Sheraton's about a mile from Plaza Mayor.

The Free Walking Tour in Lima was a good one (as was Cusco) - expect to pay a "voluntary" fee/tip at the end, but still worth it.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I booked 4P at 10k points total - a bargain.
