Courtyard Oakland Airport, CA [Master Thread]
I am Looking for a place to stay before a 7:30 am flight out of OAK with my wife and son. Has anyone stayed here? How is it? Also, how is the neighborhood around the hotel. It looks like it might be a little sketchy looking on street view. Right now, my other choice would be the Hampton Inn Oakland Airport. Thanks.

The Hampton Inn is in a much nicer area right on the water and very close to a waterfront park, just be aware there are absolutely no restaurants or retail of any kind within walking distance.

I stayed there a few months ago after a late evening arrival from Honolulu, and then off via BART from the airport the next morning. Property itself is perfectly acceptable and their shuttle arrived at the airport within a few minutes of my calling. I didn't go out and explore the neighborhood to really comment about what's off-property.

It's extra super sketchy if you cross east of the 880. It should be fine just to sleep. I would not recommend a late night stroll (except possibly to the In-n-Out Burger on the other side of Hegenberger).

If you have a car, the Hampton Inn Oakland Airport would be a good choice. It's much nicer out there. You could have dinner on Park Street in Alameda. It's a nice downtown area with lots of restaurants. Very safe.

Stayed there once New Years Day in advance of an early morning OAK flight back east. They were undergoing renovations in the lobby but were very friendly and gave some complimentary snacks in the AM. Pickup from BART and delivery to OAK the next day was perfect (had no car). Japanese restaurant next day was fine. Price & category usually lowest. Perfectly adequate.

Looking at this property on Google Maps, it looks like the only way in/out is through a gated parking lot entrance - anyone know how that works if arriving by Uber/Lyft, or by foot? (I'm aware of what the area is like, so that's not a concern - just trying to figure out entry/exit if I don't have my own vehicle!)

Just a quick update and stay report - looks like the parking lot gates are usually left open (at least during daytime and early evening hours).
Perfectly fine Courtyard stay. No real upgrade (which I don't expect at Courtyards anyways), but got placed on the top floor facing the courtyard (away from the street noise) which was appreciated. Chose the $10 F&B amenity and used it at the Bistro in the mornings, and that all seemed to work fine. Bistro was open in the evenings too. There was a pretty good crowd here, seemed there were folks hanging out with drinks and appetizers each evening. Rooms were a little dated, but nothing to complain about. Would stay here again if I needed to be close to OAK or do something overnight near the Coliseum.
