Per UnluckySven: If coming from Hong Kong Island, would suggest taking the ferry to the Taipa Ferry Terminal and then catching the free shuttle to the JW (third stop). It's a little faster and it seemed to be less crowded then the Macau Ferry Terminal (arrived at Macau; left out of Taipa). Prices are consistent between the two ferry operators (if going first class to/from Taipa make sure you have a Mastercard as you get 20% off first class tickets).

Plats get 30% off at restaurants.

When things are open, as pointed out above, Marriott has the benefit of free access to the water park. It also has a nice lounge with substantial offerings in the evening and it’s likely you’ll be upgraded to their Executive suite (especially if going on a week day).

As for St Regis, good service overall and butler service (tea/coffee can be delivered to all rooms). Breakfast really good and nice happy hour in terms of drinks (G&T trolley is a must). The pool was a letdown though.

I think trying both would be good but it wouldn’t be worth using points at St Regis nowadays with those cash rates and perhaps only at JW on Saturdays when prices are up.

The executive lounge during the evening at JW is like a free restaurant. Wine, beer, buffé food, deserts. They had a chef who could made your ramen and some other things. And quiet and calm. Will SR offer the same restaurant feeling in their lounge?
I thought that the shared complimentary water park access was fantastic and fun too haha. I'm in my 30s but it was nice to chill there for a couple of hours with my gf. Previous day we walked though the whole old Macau. Which is pretty big. Lots of historical sites and fun for us Europeans to see.

Next time in HK I definitely want to revisit and stay at JW.

Wow, the JW Macau really is something else - this is one of the nicest designed JWs I have ever seen, and the treatment here is quite strong. It's not perfect, but I can see why Galaxy Macau is a strong destination, especially for those who wish to take advantage of the large amount of outdoor water activities (all open, including the lazy river and wave pool). Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to an Executive Suite, which ended up facing the pool complex and was on the top floor of the JW portion (I believe the Ritz is above the JW) on floor "31" - oddly, 29 and 30 were missing from the elevator - this upgrade showed up in app the night before arrival
  • Very busy check-in, but after the line associate realized I wasn't sure what she was saying in Cantonese after asking her where Ambassadors check in, she had me quickly escorted to the 2nd floor Executive Club for a much calmer check-in (guess I look like a Cantonese speaker ;-) - she giggled after looking up at me)
  • The suite is a full suite with 1.5 bathroom and a large walk-in closet
  • The design is really quite strong - this looks more like a Ritz or STR than a JW, IMO
  • Living room couch was really plush
  • Shower pressure from the rainfall head was very nice and strong
  • Delivered a great tower of desserts and fruit - really enjoyed the macaron, chocolate cake, and caramel tart
  • Executive Club offering is quite strong
    • Afternoon tea is served a la carte and had a good iced mocha
    • Evening service is large with a pour-your-own drinks bar (along with a staff member to assist), noodle chef, etc
    • SO MANY MACARONS AS DESSERT CHOICES
  • Was directly offered breakfast in either the 1st floor Urban Kitchen restaurant or 2nd floor Club Lounge - you can tell Urban Kitchen can get busy as the tables were spilling out into the hallway, but it was not busy at 7 AM (I had a table right next to the buffet)
    • Nice chef-made omelet
    • Crispy hashbrown
    • Loved the Cantonese fried milk - first time to try
    • Nice blueberry muffin
    • Tasty mochas
  • Offered late checkout - no issue with the 3 PM I requested
  • Service at the lounge was fantastic
    • Inga, the club lounge manager, came to greet me and had a lovely 20-minute conversation at check-out (the staff had me sit and have a beverage of my choice before I left) about our experiences with languages, etc.
    • Victory and the rest of the team were very helpful and friendly
Neutral:
  • The mattress needs some updating - it was quite firm, and the topper seemed to be uneven - I still slept well despite the thinner covers, but the pillows were great - it reminded me of my older bed at home - marking this as neutral as I slept well
Cons:
  • No Internet streaming options on the TV
Overall, I would absolutely return to the JW.

Thanks for the review. It seems like the JW Marriott Macau's Club offering has strengthened since my last visit a few years ago when I was not impressed (using Grand Hyatt Macau as the comparison).

Did you try the water park that the JW Marriott Macau is attached to ?

I didn't bring my bathing suit, but it looked like a lot of fun.

Oh, it looks so huge! Did you by chance check out where the new W hotel will be built? If so, does it look like it'll be ready to open this September?

Next to or behind Studio City, which is south of Parisian. The building looks done - don't know about the inside.yorkboy24 had a comment on this in the W master thread.

How's the drink selection at the lounge? Photos in this thread from 2017 ish showed a pretty boring 7-11 tier selection of spirits.

Does anyone know of an email contact for the JW Marriott Macau? I booked a room for 3 adults (one rollaway bed). With Titanium status, I expect lounge access will be covered for 2 guests. I'm wondering how much it'll cost to get lounge access for the third guest?

Breakfast and dinner sure. Afternoon tea is a preset selection. Here's pictures of some of the selection for evening hors d'oeuvres.

King Chung Huang I'm assuming no surcharge for Titanium Elite to have the afternoon tea and the evening food spread?

For everyone else here, which rate would you guys go with? 50,000 points/MOP1425.

It is part of the Elite benefits, so Plat and Titanium enjoy the same thing on lounge access. You can have breakfast at the restaurant too - a lot more selection but also a lot busier. On busy days they even have overflow tables outside the restaurant along the corridor by the outer wall.

When we did the late check out at the lounge in Oct, they even invited us to enjoy the afternoon tea again, even though technically your entitlement for afternoon tea is not on the departure day.

It is a very good way to use the 35K cert because they have expiration dates when we stayed there in Oct. I also used 50K certs at JWM Hong Kong when they were between 47 and 49K at the time of booking. However if you are using points, then IMO the cash rate is a better value if it needs 50K pts, as MOP 1425+10% service is just under $200 usd. That is a waste of points.
