Maybe you would enjoy some of the digital photos I took of bulldozers, jackhammers, heavy construction vehicles cruising past my room.
Send Mr. Marriott a nice MP4 of his Wailea mess...
And, yes, indeed I would like to see such pictures, as I'm sure everyone reading this thread would. Bring it

Wow amazing. I am so sorry to hear about your bad experiences. It is a shame that the enjoyment of your vacation was negatively impacted by this bad experience.
We were at the Wailea in July 2007 and our experience was very different. The lobby/check-in area was under construction. So check-in was moved to a temporary area off to the side. We had a fabulous room (ocean front) that was quite nice (although not very big). The pools were great and we had no problems anywhere.
We stayed at Waikiki, Wailea, and Waikoloa on that trip. Wailea was our least favorite of the properties although we enjoyed Maui in general. Our favorite was the Waikoloa on the Big Island. We liked both that property best and that island was our favorite too.

As for the Marriott Waikoloa, I stayed there in 2007 with Rewards points and had a lovely time. Check out TripAdvisor reviews. Recent Marriott Waikoloa reviews are much better than the Hilton Waikoloa reviews.

wonderful stay at wailea
I was at the Wailea Marriott last month using points and it was wonderful, much better than what I expected. Yes there is construction but as a platinum member i was in a room (upgraded) that was not anywhere near the construction. You dont even have to walk past the construction. The older pool is nice and was never over crowded we always found chairs no matter what time of day we arrived. The service was great at the front desk and by the pool.
The room was nice, and there is a 42 inch flat screen in the room. I would love to go back there any time.
Sorry about your experience and shocked that as a platinum they would put you in what seems to be the last few rooms that were not upgraded.

Wailea Maui Marriott - New Heated Pool
Is it really true that the new pool at Wailea Maui is heated?
If so, life just got even sweeter in paradise.....

This hotel is nothing more than average at best. The new infiniti pool is not heated but has a black bottom so is warmer than the others. Warning: there may be construction there and also the spa has high mandatory service charges and also expects tip over and above. PM me if you want further details....I was there in January.

Here is my Tripadvisor review from 2 wks ago
I am a Marriott Platinu member and was treated great ! :
Tremendous Vacation @ The Wailea Marriott
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

My family of 4 ( 2 adults & 2 kids ) just completed a 9 day stay at the Wailea Marriott Resort and had a great vacation. The renovations are complete and the property is amazing. Great open air lobby when you arrive. Nicely renovated rooms. All of the pools and slides are open and are a lot of fun. The hotel is beachfront and you can watch the whales playing in the water right from the swimming pool. There are two beach's - one to the left of the hotel ( much more crowded ) and one to the right of the hotel ( in my opinion much nicer ). Both beachs are their own little coves so they are not rough and are great for the kids and snorkling.
The food at the hotel was very good and the service was amazing ! I would stay here again and I would recomment this hotel to anyone ! I am a seasoned road warrior and this hotel was one of the best I have stayed at !!!

Was last on Maui in July 2006 staying at Renaissance which is down the beach from Marriott Wailea. Marriott seemed to me, at the time, to be sort of like a very dated retirement community. Nobody was around the small pool that you could see from the beach walk. I didn't have any desire to stay there from what I saw. Didn't go into the hotel at all, but just walking through the grounds didn't leave a good impression.

Marriott Wailea Resort FREE Breakfast
Hello, I was told on the phone when I made my reservations at the Marriott Wailea Resort that as a gold status I would receive free breakfast in the hotel restaurant if I show my Marriott Gold card and room key.
Can anyone confirm if this is in fact the case because I thought that resorts did not offer free breakfast.
Thanks.

This is completely WRONG re: showing room key as Gold and getting free breakfast at Wailea Marriott.
As a PLATINUM Premier, I had to pay full price (this was in April).
Keep in mind, this is a resort. Per policy, no free breakfast for elites at resorts.

Our resort does not offer complimentary breakfast to Gold or Platinum Elite members because we do not have a Concierge Lounge / Level. Resorts are excluded from this offer.
There are a few packages that include breakfast for two.
