how is platinum recognition at both? we (bae and i, no kids no drama) are looking to book on points.

is there a lounge at the ritz? i know jw has one. will i get access at jw or do i need to be club level for that? we'd appreciate a free breakfast and maybe some snacks in the evening, otherwise we have a car and we're figuring out our own meals and activities. marriott is cheaper but has a resort fee which totally ruins the value proposition i calculated on a spreadsheet here.

i am correct to assume poolside drinks and snacks at both are new york city prices? we are points rich and well traveled, so while we can tolerate paying $4 for something (can of beer) that's $0.20 at the grocery, we adverse to paying $10.

while i like the wider access to properties of all grades, i do miss spg.
