Wow-- I've been so busy myself (and away from this forum) that I missed the fact that Lurker was away.

He is one of the very best things about *wood and I wish him all the best.

I'm headed down to San Antonio, and The Westin Riverwalk in particular, tomorrow. I'll be back in the office late on Thursday around 4:30 PM for about four hours.

If you have sent me something to work on and I haven't contacted you with the final resolution, I'm still working on it.

Sincerely,

I hope you enjoy your time with Mom - and that she's duly surprised!

No one has to beg at this hotel. Not even the Starwood Lurker. But, then, I never ask for one.

They are generous to a fault. ^

Is there a special "Lurker" amenity on check-in?

On special occasions like our anniversary, they've been known to leave a split of wine, a cheese & cracker tray, or chocolate covered strawberries. But, I've never asked for that either.

At the risk of plagiarizing one of my favorite Mel Brooks lines....It's good to be the Lurker.

Hope I'm not prying William but inquiring minds want to know. When you check in to a *wood do they:
1. Always know you work for *wood?
2. For the ones that DO know you work for *wood, do they know you're the famous Lurker of Flyertalk?

If you can't (or don't want) to answer, just ignore. Just curious. Glad to see that they treat you as well as they treat us.

Well, I'm not that much of a world-wide traveler, but The Westin Riverwalk knows me pretty well. That hotel is almost home away from home for me and Mrs. Starwood Lurker. The W New Orleans on Poydras also knows me and treated us like royalty the last time we were there (too long ago). And, although I've never stayed at the W FQ, my reputation preceeds me.

Of the other properties I've stayed at, I'm not sure if they really care or not other than the fact that I am a guest for however long that may be. They know I work for Starwood because I give them the letter of introduction at check-in. Being the Starwood Lurker rarely comes up as a part of the check-in process because I use my title - Customer Service Coordinator -and, like I said, I don't usually say anything about it myself. After all, just getting to stay in a really nice hotel at a terrific rate and half-off food & beverage is a pretty nice benefit in and of itself.

Sincerely,

Labor Day Weekend

I'm leaving tonight for the Labor Day weekend. Not traveling, thank God.

I'll be back around noon next Tuesday. Be kind to us and to yourself over the holiday weekend.

But I got just got shorted 16 whole Starpoints and I'm furious and I demand that you be at my beck-and-call to sort through this atrocity and stroke my bruised ego!

Besides...you got it all wrong! You're supposed to work over Labor Day weekend. That's why it's called Labor Day!

Or is that when babies are born?
